Sorry, but thats ridiculous. When we traded for Roberto, he was a man-child who couldn't crack the senior side, albeit with a fair bit of potential up his sleeve. To suggest that that trade is a decent benchmark for Mitch Clark, an established high level 23 yo ruck/forward coming into his prime (and a former no 9 pick to boot) borders on delusional.

Fact is that for someone of his age and experience he did play well in '07 when he did crack into the team, but later like Clark he was at times limited by injury and suspension.
Yet despite winning the 2007 Beacon Award for Best New Player, and the critical shortage of ruckmen at the time (Carlton's stocks were close to zero), the best we could wrangle was (effectively) picks 24 and 56.
Why? Because he was determined to go home.
So all said he is a good benchmark.
