Gibbs valued us more than Carlton, but that did diddly squat.
Seriously? You’re comparing the known quality of Gibbs to the slightly injury prone and the potential of quality of McGovern?

Exacty, watch him against Collingwood in the final. GWS busted their ass to hit the lead then a no pressure turn over down the guts from Shiel gave it right back to Collingwood who made them pay. It happens a lot from him. I really believe most people are hoodwinked when it comes to him because of his explosive movement away from a stoppage every now and again while overlooking the obvious flaws in his game.Except in finals, where he goes to water Jenkins style
Thats just Rowie trying to keep on everyones good side for future social situations he will find himself in.Can't agree with that. The way he talks up McKay you'd think he was a dual brownlow medalist

I wonder why we are being so quiet. We on the front foot about Lever and Charles. We set the agenda that we expected 2 first round picks / 1 good first round pick.
The media discussion was focused on what we demanded. Is it fair? Will they get it? Opinions differed. In the end we got close to our demands.
This time we appear to have been completely silent. We don’t have media reports like “I hear AFC expect a top 5 pick for MGov, [insert hot take here]”
This means the agenda is set by Carlton and their media cronies. “I hear Carlton will offer pick 24 and some SANFL guy, will it be enough”?
I cannot say whether this is good or bad. But it is very weird given it is so different to last year’s approach, and that approach worked well so why change it.
My concern is that the reports proposing we aim for a pick around 10-15 are going to turn out to be true.
We will have to wait for the result.
Sorry if this has been said in the 25 pages which were posted in the last 37 minutes.
Just let my avatar do the talking on this one..Obviously you do value him more than we do, but he values us more than he values you.
So Max King is in the draft and has just done an ACL. He also is only worth potential, as he has done nothing at AFL level. Will most likely go top 5 still.Seriously? You’re comparing the known quality of Gibbs to the slightly injury prone and the potential of quality of McGovern?
That’s a moot point if he ends up at Carlton.Except in finals, where he goes to water Jenkins style
This is the most ironic comment on the internet 27th Sept. 2018 -room of mirrors mate, room of mirrors!
He also though Douglas was as good, if not better than Gibbs. While alot of people slag off Rowie, he is actually a pretty decent judge of talent. He spends a far bit of time a jr matches etc
He said on AA that he watched Fog all throughout his jr career because he played against and along side James, and he said Fog isnt as talented as Gov. Gov has far more weapons.
Hes not a decent judge, not at all. While alot of people slag off Rowie, he is actually a pretty decent judge of talent. He spends a far bit of time a jr matches etc

Says a guy who lives in a state that had Kennett as their premier....
Nup, I think you're grossly underrating Shiel, not many mids in the AFL can match his burst speed from stoppages and not many mids in front of him for i50's, he's very close to what we gave up for Gibbs IMO given his age. I'd disagree re the game breaker bit too. He's firmly in the top echelon of mids in the AFL
Doubt he even knew what a McGovern was back then to be honest.Hes not a decent judge, not at all.
He would know the SA boys but nobody else, also I'm curious as to whether he saw Gov as an 17yo kid.
He has seen more of Fog than you or I. He has seen as much of Gov as you and I. He actually is decent, wether you like him or not.Hes not a decent judge, not at all.

He was a terrible coach, trust me.He has seen more of Fog than you or I. He has seen as much of Gov as you and I. He actually is decent, wether you like him or not.
He coached Norwoods U18s for years. He knows how to judge kids.
Adelaide will not receive a first round pick for MM, it isn't happening and he isn't worth it. He has shown a lot but he is far from the bonafide star that Gibbs was at the time of his trade. Whilst Adelaide will not allow themselves to get bent over, it is in their best interest that any player who wants to leave does so in a quiet and happy manner, with the disaster of a pre season camp still lingering they do not want disgruntled former players bringing it back to the surface.
Remember: Gibbs was happy to stay if a deal couldn't get done, MM will not be at Adelaide under any circumstance next year (regardless if he is at Carlton by trade, another club or he rips up his contract and walks into the PSD (incredibly unlikely))
For all the supporters who are talking about pick one or a future first round pick (i know it is not all of you, the majority of you are realistic) you are going to be massively disappointed.
You can mark my words that Carlton will be taking Sam Walsh with this #1 and any use of a future first round pick will be going to GWS in a deal for Shiel.

. *choke gag wheeze* I’d keep him then. As for Gibbs, he towed the party line. If you want a player, u need to be able to trade for him. Carlton realistically only have picks, Cripps or Curnow as value and there is no way they will let Cripps or Curnow go

OK, let's suppose that Mitch is not chasing the $s. *choke gag wheeze*
What are the other reasons?
You can also rule out wanting to play Finals, wanting to return home, wanting to play for a good coach, wanting to keep his g/f happy (Gold Coast has her Uni course too), wanting to win a lot of games ... no, wait ... it's the $s.
wheres the clip from the front bar showing Bolton so happy at hawks then always angry at lolton2 wins in 2018
Keeping smiling.

Completely untrue.Interesting isn't, it has been reported that he was offered more from the Dockers and our offer is similar to the one he is currently on
