Delisted by Hawthorn today.

If we cant get Luke Ball do we want him for free in the PSD. Young, Athletic KPF with questions over his attitude and is injury plagued. Worth a risk though if he is free i reckon.

Very impressive when he was 18 for the Devils (Tas VFL team r.i.p..Spaulds lol), very versatile played CHF,CHB and Ruck.

General opinion was he had tickets on himself though, might be why he was dropped with a year to run. Wouldn't mind getting him if we had pick 50, otherwise maybe rookie, though he may be gone by then.

Needs a proper environment to set him straight.

Would love to have him if Ball chooses to stay at the saints. From what I'm aware he's over his injuries now too apparently

Definitely if Ball decides not to go into the PSD then get into Thorp's ear about coming to us in the PSD.

Getting delisted may be the kick in the arse he needs to deal with these attitude problem rumours floating around.

If it isn't the kick up the arse, a punch in the face from Moloney should go a long way in helping him.

If he does end up in the PSD (and Ball isn't) it will mean that P11 and/or 18 could very well be used for another mid...

One of the rumours going around is that Thorp wanted to have Hardwick as a mentor again, since Hardwick was the one that took the most interest in him when he was assistant coach at the Hawks.
So he asked to be delisted?

That seem fathomable to you?

I heard this on Bigfooty so don't take it to heart.

The rumour is that soon after arriving at Hawthorn after being drafted he smuggly turned to Birchall and asked him at what pick he was drafted at. Birchall replied, "how many AFL games have you played?"

If it is true it just shows how disgustingly arrogant he is.

Perhaps your question is actually the answer, such that the rumor may be true. Would seem silly if he in fact did ask and had nowhere to go, so perhaps he may be off to Richmond...

Confirms what my source has told me that he has tickets on himself...

I'm a bit perplexed as to how he can be delisted whilst there is still a year to go with his contract. Ok, so he is injured and might not have an opportunity at the Hawks... all of a sudden he can walk? As it is mutual (by the sounds of it) do the Hawks still have to pay his contract out for next year? I though you could only pay out a contract and piss off a player under certain circumstances such as we did with Carroll who violated his contractual terms.

It all sounds a bit dodgy to me, either Thorp was let go by the Hawks due to his attitude or because of his injury or both.

MFC no doubt would be privy to all the details and if they think he is worth a punt then fair enough but on the surface it is a NO from me.

I've heard similar things - however if he can play, i see no harm in taking him if the other Ball drops.

I would be interested in him if he is over his injury problems. I wouldn't even mind us using #34 or #50 on him, depending on what else BP thought was available at those picks.

If ball decides to stay at the saints we should do everything possible to get him.

We should show him our faciltiys etc. But we need to tell him that were giving him the chance, not he and us

As long as we don't show him the powerpoint presentation, that's a sure fire way of deading the deal.

Easy solution. He gets to train in the special Watts, Scully, Trengove and Morton group.

P6... What a spud :o

I say take him with one of our lower picks. Its a gamble, but so is a draftee at that stage of the selections. If you believe that the draft is shallow, it might be a masterstroke.

Also we will have 4 draftees in the door pre pick #34, we can only have so many 18 year olds running around....

Structurally I think it is worth the gamble if the guys can get over his injuries and his attitude issues (if they exist).

I thik we will find out that his attitude is not at the required level for AFL, would best explain why a bloke at pick 6 has been delisted with a year to run on his contract. If we can;t get ball would be happy to take Thorp...even rookie him if possible.
