Finally got around to this and finished it off really quickly, which says something about it's entertainment value. I think the show makes for a better binge than weekly watch, but to each their own on that.

If you like Ray Donovan you will like this.

Gaso, unsure if you posted this knowing the history of the series, but this is exactly what it began as; a prequel to Ray Donovan. "The Donovans" was the original title of it when Ronan Bennett was almost solely responsible... But then Guy Ritchie got involved... then Jez Butterworth got involved... & it turned into...

A highly entertaining mess in my opinion.

Ultimately, "A highly entertaining mess" near perfectly sums it up. As much as I enjoyed it (because it's just so darn entertaining), I think I've preferred a stack of mostly straighter gangster shows I've seen of late; 'Kin' and even 'This City Is Ours' which played out at basically the same time as this to very little fanfare.

If you're looking for the tonal mix from this series done better, then I prefer Ritchie's 'The Gentlemen' from last year, and the classic series 'Love/Hate' is still the at the top of the tree, for mine.

Speaking of 'Kin', what a waste Emmett J Scanlan was in this as Paul. Such a nothing character that surely plays a larger role in Season 2.

As does everything!

No I didn’t know

And absolutely regarding the Kin alumni

" Paramount has fired Tom Hardy from his own show, MOBLAND. He will not return for Season 3 after clashing with the show's producers."

Not sure how Season 2 will pan out so not panic stations yet. But sucks season 1 was good
If they kill off Harry, the show is done.

No different to Yellowstone and John Dutton.

I might not even bother to watch s2 now.

I will but it probably affects my mindset when I do

It sounds like season 2 is in the can but it doesn't bode well for the show if Hardy doesn't think it was good enough to stay around for a 3rd season.

Yellowstone was going down the gurgler way before he was written out

That return season after he was left on the road to die was the greatest opportunity wasted

He may have received a paper cut such was the underwhelming response

That's not the reason, they sacked him because he was constantly late and difficult to work with. Bit of a character trait, unfortunately, cause he's clearly talented. Despite being something of an ensemble, he's clearly the main man and I'm not sure how a season 3 would look without him.

Apparently it's because Helen is a Zionist and Tom is pro-palestine and words were exchanged. But hard to know right now what the actual truth is. He's been connected to difficult to work with Charlize Theron and Shia who both have their personal issues. So for that it's hardly a one way problem,.

Seems like a smear campaign against Hardy honestly.
