Thankyou one and all.

I will of course be ruling with an iron fist, all those who do not worship me will be banned. All those who worship me shall be banned. In fact everyone but me will be banned. :D

In all seriousness thanks everyone, it's a decent bunch on the Dees board and I can see that all the moderating that will really be needed is when the parrot type get on the board.

Would it be too much to ask to INSTANTLY BAN anyone who trolls on this board?

It got a bit out of hand last year. BT, good bloke and all, but he wasn't online often enough to eliminate these trolls.

In Deestroy we trust.

I know what you mean mate, it did get out of hand at times last season and I won't allow that to happen this year.

You should do what they did on the Brisbane and WCE board. There's a stickied thread warning anyone who trolls will be banned. I recommend it deestroy. ;)

Congrats mate, hopefully there can be many more melbourne related victories coming our way in 06. But then again, those Melbourne supporters who applied and got turned down counts as a loss....and I'm sure that more got turned back then got accepted (1, Deestroy)

With this in mind and taking into account Newtons 2nd law of Physics and Einsteins Law of Relativity, Melbourne will finish 3rd this year with Luke Williams making a shock comback and winning the Brownlow 4 times in the year.

Latest info is there will more than likely be a 2nd Melbourne mod in the near future to keep in line with the policy of each board having at least 2 mods.

I will of course assume senior mod role and assign all the hard work to the 2nd mod.
Good luck with that mate.

We need some ideas to make this board a bit more interesting, its very like stop-start.

Yeah I had noticed that and there is plenty of demon supporters on BF. I figure because demonland and demonology are pretty popular, people post on Melbourne matters there maybe?

I dont like the setup of either forums though. BF is a lot easier to find your way through. It's hard to get a lot happening on the team forums simply because its pre-season. Come round 1, there will be heaps of people over these boards...I hope :o

Buts it not just the pre-season, look at the number of threads and posts for the Melbourne forum compared to other clubs and we are one of the lowest when im sure we would have one of the largest followings on BF.

I only use Demonland and Demonology for the training reports and photos which are usually top class but the discussions dont usually interest me that much. BF is much better.

I thought the new demonland setup is pretty good.

You both make good points. Marns is right in that it is pre-season and I don't know about you but talking about how we are going to go next year can get old very quickly.

Having said that it is one of the lower used boards on BF, Demonland & Demonology contribute to this significantly as can be seen by the fact some of the other teams have no good unofficial websites (such as the Bulldogs) and are therefore huge on BF whereas others (like Melbourne, Collingwood, Carlton) have great unofficial sites and are less popular on BF.

What's the answer? Tough question, all you can really do is be proactive about creating threads and posts that lead to discussion.

A year ago the board was completely dead, now it's showing some signs of recovery but it has a long way to go.

Yeah the Demonland design was changed awhile back, much more user friendly now, more like the BF style forum.
Yeah I just had a look, it is a lot better than it has previously been. Like you said, a lot more user friendly.

Maybe we should try and get a link established with Demonology and Demonland, that way our posters can be involved with their discussions and vice-versa?

Good thinking, like post a link to it under the demonblog link or something. Of course, you'd have to see the hierachy about that though.

If you mean being able to post there from a BF account technology wouldn't allow such a link as far as I know. If you meant a simple link to these websites the admin here wouldn't allow it, they want this board to grow, not to make Demonland/Demonology bigger.
