Nothing at all wrong with Rnd 18 after dominating in the WAFL for 3 months.Really and truly not bothered when his AFL return occurs even if it's next season.
The more important thing is that after he returns he has a long and hopefully decorated career.

He hasn't gone through 3 knee recos to play wafl. If he was dominating the wafl for 3 months and not getting a game the poor guy would going absolutely nuts and wondering what he has to do to get selected.

I'm sorry but what are you smoking?

I'm neither smoking anything nor sorry that I can't help your comprehension skills. To recap:the date of Morabito's return to AFL is far less important than the fact that he then goes on to have a long and hopefully decorated career.
Hardly even a slightly contentious statement I would have thought.

It matters to me. We need him making an impact on the field, not just the TPP. Im a huge, huge fan and thought he was the heir apparent to Pav, I was calling him mini Pav at the footy. This year is his last chance I would have thought.

Put it this way: If he dominates the WAFL and doesn't get a game here, I'm sure there are plenty of other clubs who would be interested.

There's not really a lot to be scared of from a club's point of view, obviously you wouldn't offer him a 5-year contract. There's nothing stopping any club from offering him contracts on a season-by-season basis AFAIK. If Freo doesn't play him I am sure West Coast would happily take him.

I've been busy smoking shit and I can hear all these Chinese people whispering.o_O:D

Nobody is suggesting there is any rumour of this. I'm just saying Morabito's career will not be over if Lyon refuses to play him. He can just go to a club that will.

Bit of a dog move IMO. Doubt it would happen though.

How is it a "dog move" to leave a club that won't give you a game? I certainly don't blame Viv Michie for leaving at all. He still wouldn't be getting a game this year if he had stayed here, and he's too good to play WAFL his whole career.

Because we could have just given up on him, or put him on the rookie list. Instead he has maintained his spot on the senior list, earning a fair bit, and the club has invested 3 years into him and his injury recovery. If he left I would consider it to be 'using' the club.

Which suggest to me that the club won't be leaving him in the WAFL until round 18 as some have suggested.

Morabito (or any player of his quality) is under no obligation to stay at a club that won't give him a game in the AFL.

A "dog move" would be for us to say, "Great work on the recovery Mora! Now go win a premiership with Peel!"

Have I entered a parallel universe?

There was zero wrong with what scon said if you have even average comprehension skills.

And there is no way in hell that RTB won't play him if his form warrants it at Peel.

We all want to see him succeed, however he is not going to get a game just because he is "that" Anthony Morabito who rooted his knee 3 times. That means jack shit.

In saying that he seems to be training the house down ;), so the signs are encouraging.

He looks pretty much like the fittest human being on the planet from those photos. Really he has done everything possible.

When he was playing he did not seem like the he had the prettiest of skills but more relied on power and a willingness to take the game on. Catch me if you can.

I don't think it will take him long to recapture form, it will more be about confidence for him, and I get the feeling that will come quickly too.

That's it Gav.Hopefully after a few full games of either WAFL league or AFL games mora has full confidence in his reconstructed knee and starts playing like he did in his debut season(2010):-O.
