The only decent American sport to watch is Baseball. Just about the perfect game. Has survived virtually unchanged for 100 years. As close to the perfect sport as you can get.

Yes, golf is a great TV sport, but it does make a difference who is handling the TV coverage. The Channel 7 Australian TV coverage has always been top-class, especially when you compare it to other countries that cover it.

The BBC coverage of the British Open has its charm, but is way too lackisdasical and never takes advantage of the fact of how good a TV sport golf can be. The American coverage of their majors isn't bad, but for some reason I've always found their coverage pretty colourless and assembly-line.

If baseball is a great TV sport, then cricket is an ever better TV sport. It took the introduction of Channel 9 in the late 1970s to see what a great TV event it could be, especially when taken away from the hackneyed efforts of the ABC and BBC.

Interestingly, for such an old-fashioned sport, cricket's structure suits modern commercial TV perfectly. One of the reasons Kerry Packer became interested in cricket coverage in the 1970s was the fact that there was a guaranteed opportunity for a commercial break every 3 minutes or so, I don't think any other major sport can match that guranteed advertising revenue.

im surprised cricket isnt up there, although i love it, i would think a lot of ppl think its boring.

also, american football is up there on my list. the NSL is VERY boring, though some of the big premier league games are good to watch, but basketball takes the cake for me... YUK

oh and before i forget, equestrian.. i just cant watch those toffee noses.

Um, I don't mind watching Rugby. Not my favourite sport, but it's okay. But I don't have a problem with the rules. What rule in particular don't you like?

Where is tennis. I think it's easily the most boring thing to watch after golf, which I refuse to recognise as a sport. Sure, tennis is good fun to play, but boring as hell to watch. At least with motor sport there is bound to be a big smash at some stage.
