The Match Review Officer charged Xerri with striking, grading the incident as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

The incident resulted in Sparrow being taken from the field on a stretcher.

The club has until Tuesday morning to decide whether to appeal the suspension.

They cannot continue with the logic of injury = severe

To me he Xerri didnt swing his left arm he kept it disengaged except for the natural arm out motion. Play that last snippet from side on and Xerri appears to keep his arm stationary until Sparrow decided to run head first into the arm. That's when it swings back to make it look worse. Sparrow just got unlucky.

Footballing incident , move on.

If he graded it as a strike it’s clear there was no strike by the fact that he had an open hand. Should be open and shut based on a grading of a striking, as executing a tackle with an open hand is not a striking motion.

Surely not even the North lawyers can **** this up?

Usually spend my Monday nights taking in the footy shows but I can't be bothered. After a) this shit, b) attending the Richmond/Essendon game and c) my own club's miserable existence, footy just isn't what it was for me.

To not appeal this is such a bad optic for the club. Just have to take it back on appeal as get the best damm Lawyer (not those involved with Archer or Curtis) and take it all the way. If we don’t it’s just going to be rinse and repeat and we get done over an over again. Line in the sand please Watt and Hood.

I really don’t understand how Christian still has a job. It’s hard to work out who is more incompetent in their job. Christian, Laura Kane or Kelly Underwood?
