To me he Xerri didnt swing his left arm he kept it disengaged except for the natural arm out motion. Play that last snippet from side on and Xerri appears to keep his arm stationary until Sparrow decided to run head first into the arm. That's when it swings back to make it look worse. Sparrow just got unlucky. How is this ****er so blind not to see that Salem shoving Simpkin into Sparrow is the catalyst for this even happening?
This, this and this again. Both are carelsss actions that results in concussion although it’s easily arguable Xerri’s is more of a football act than Richards. It’s a joke that we are on the wrong side of these - seemingly every time.Needed to lead with the elbow. Ed Richards style.

Don't worry, the footy media will no doubt tear strips off the AFL for their rank hypocrisy and breathtaking inconsistency. This, this and this again. If he graded it as a strike it’s clear there was no strike by the fact that he had an open hand. Should be open and shut based on a grading of a striking, as executing a tackle with an open hand is not a striking motion. The Match Review Officer charged Xerri with striking, grading the incident as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.
The incident resulted in Sparrow being taken from the field on a stretcher.
The club has until Tuesday morning to decide whether to appeal the suspension.
