I'd like to see any one of you man up, walk up to the next player in line (even if it is Jesse White), and say that they don't deserve to play this week ahead of someone who broke team rules.

How do you know what the team rules are
I don't, but surely you don't give someone sanctions unless rules have been broken - and they said sanctions were implemented.

It'd be pretty naive to think this is the first time in years and years that a player of ours has done something like this. We benefit so nicely out of the Sydney media's lack of enthusiasm towards the club and any number of player indiscretions could have been missed where the club just carries out the punishment behind closed doors. Despite our awesome culcha, the club is populated by young guys who will bugger up.

This plus the day after the GF is building a nice reputation for Mumford being the party guy of the Swans.

I can just imagine him, Hannebery, Alex Johnson and Goodesy sitting around having this conversation.

Barret is a grub. Mumford having a drink aside, he is a gutter grub, just like the bald grub he replaced. Why is he put forward? Good on Sam for grilling him every time..now, back to Mummy. We don't know what happened, what he may have done. The fact that it was taken care of internally, it was minor. That being said, it seems if you want to get on the piss as an AFL player, do it in Sydney or Brisbane. As for the players, it is sad that they can't let their hair down, especially the better players, but they are paid top dollar to perform for their employer for the course of the season. Nights out, 10 day break or not, is not good for performance, and certainly not good for recovery or if nursing an injury. A few beers through the week perhaps, but big nights out are a no-no in this day and age.

I do love how the footy show brushed over it, Swans culture taking care of business..I would love to have been a fly on the wall when the two of them gave the big Mummy a dressing down, all WWf style!!

just cos mummy had a few too many midori and lemonaide is no need to come down on the bloke and drop him, he is a bit of larrikan we knew that.

He had that stressful appearance on the biggest loser with those fatties, give him a break ok

I was talking about acts that had come out in the public during the season.

How did they see through his brilliant disguise?

"Shane Mumford? No, I'm Guy Incognito."

I trust the club and leadership group to make the appropriate decision in matters like this. We clearly don't know all the circumstances of the misdemeanor or the consequences. If the club don't think its worth him missing a game, fine. If they think it is, also fine, bring in Jesse White.

Disappointed. Thought the thread was going to be about his moustache.

Me too hope he keeps it for a couple more weeks, loved how the comentators on 7 broke down the moment when they first saw his beard. The laughter when they realised what they were seeing followed by jes no no and i havent seen that since the 80s, you just know they will be looking for it this weekend.

Hope it was to shave his mo.

Thats blasphemy no sacrilege i dont know what it is, maybe both or just plain wrong.

Maybe there were no sanctions, or a token fine. Maybe he hasnt broken the team rules, however given it was to be reported in the media the Swans got on the front foot to show they had "dealt" with it.

I hope this is the case, I'm all for the "bloods culture" but watching Barry Halls interview it is apparent that you cannot have a one size fits all approach. If Mummy let loose before a 9 day break, good luck to him. There are no reports of inappropriate behaviour.

He got kicked out of a few places.

Someone can be asked to leave for a Varity of reasons. Sometimes just because your unsteady on your feet or appear to be or a friend has to much they ask you all to leave.

Been asked to leave in isolation is not an indicator of having done the wrong thing.

Being asked to leave several places suggests it's not an aberration.

I have no issue with him going out and drinking when we have a 10 day break. I'm also not comparing it to Swan - who was on a club imposed alcohol ban - I'm just pointing out that it's not as if he did nothing wrong.
