I think Davis has potential. Not sure why we retained Wilson though. Maybe CEY seeks a trade?

That's my assumption at least, keeping inside mid depth and a strong body in the SANFL for development assuming Yolmen leaves.

Given contract lengths not given, I wonder if Murphy is a multi yer deal that guarantees him an upgrade after this year on the rookie list. Helps list management this year but also provides him reward.

Could also be that he is on rookie list but is getting paid a higher salary than a standard rookie (how does that work with TPP, is rookie list a seperate cap then any payments above standard count toward the regular one? or they only count toward TPP if they actually play and so are then upgraded)

I've watched every SANFL Crows game this year via the SANFL digital pass and disagree with this, Davis whilst he needs to find consistency and get more involved throughout a game he definitely has AFL talent and traits, extremely good overhead, big leap and footy smarts, absolutely no problem with the club backing him in to get his game to come together for another year on the list. Wilson I don't have a problem with either as a big body and experience to support our youngsters in the SANFL, dominated in the SANFL playing in a very poor team, booming kick which he should use more until he improves his medium/short kick...he's depth, good depth.

Wilson has gone from a solid SANFL player at Sturt to a league star within 18 months. If he can improve at a similar rate again he'll play a few games next year.

Davis is a serious talent. If he had his brothers size he wouldn't have lasted to us in the draft.

Not great out and out speed, but quite athletic. Dan Menzel style athleticism, had the knee recos not happened.

To be fair to Mitch it's hard to work defensively when you or your team always have the pill. Am reliably informed he and Panos were told they needed to work harder on that side of their games during pre season.

I'm not saying he isn't a great SANFL player. He's a gun at the level.

I'm not sure Cheney is a real need if we feel Andy McPherson's body will be up to scratch come next season.

I would say a season too early for that as an expectation. McPherson really has to be a "get the body up to scratch" and just get some development time into him, with him hopefully beginning to put a run of games that could see him get an AFL game late 2019/start of 2020.

The Murphy news is good. Wilson will never make it at AFL level though, a waste of a spot.

It's just a body that we don't have to put to our cap. Somewhat of a waste, but could have use if we get a lot of injuries into the area he's in.

Needs fitness, but the talent is there. I'd have left Lynch out and given him a couple games at the end.

I mean, fair enough. He's expected to fail by virtue of his draft pick.

Regardless there is no harm in leaving a prospect like him on the list, he'll either click (and he does have some tools which make him intriguing to say the least) and be a good/very good player or he fails in which we haven't lost anything by virtue of giving up so little to keep him. Perfect low end prospect really.

That's true.

Grigg is a unit now.

He is however a better player though
