I see the paper stated the rule for instinct de-registration was for the age 16+.

Maybe trying to get the games under 16 to give him a chance of playing in the future ?
Should of said no appeal at the first hearing. Should never be allowed to play again..

I see Nathalia are going down the Danny Williams path with the dogga white incident. Can’t really see it affecting the outcome either way.
What was the outcome to this case? I never seen the incident above but funny how no one was looking to hang this MAN out to dry yet everyone wants the u17s kids head!

Ill add, the injuries sustained by the Echuca united player were servere which required surgery. This sort of behavior is a football issue that needs to be addressed asap! Happening way to often.. but in this U17s incident i find it very interesting how the footy community want to view it. The kid deserved to cop what he has from the tribunal but i have also seen the response on social media directed at this KID yet id hardly heard anything regarding this senior football incident?

The echuca incident was on the news and in the riverine Herald for weeks....

No-one from is condoning the incident, I suspect we are simply going to appeal for a second opinion of sorts. I think the question is how does a senior player, who one could argue should of known better, who caused serious injury, cop 6(?) weeks, and a junior player, who owns his mistake, gets 18....?... I can only wonder what should he have copped if he pleaded not guilty?

Please correct me if I am incorrect goodgolly24 but didn't the junior player leave two players knocked out in an unprovoked attack , including one being out for 5 minutes ?
With the education and information around these days I think it is hard to suggest that being knocked out isn't a highly serious injury that often has life long affect.

TRIB I think that’s why we wanted a second opinion. What IS worse?? (striking is striking, and that should be the charge, not the result IMO).... It’s important to keep in mind no body has broken any rules in applying to the appeals board, and if they hand down the same or an increased sentence then that’s what we cop, and if they hand down a lesser sentence then that’s what we cop. I don’t discount injuries from either event, but the focus should be the action, not the result.

Don’t you think he didn’t have much of a choice in pleading guilty when there was clear footage of the incidents Disgusting it was to say the least, hope his penalty is increased at the appeal!!

I think you might be missing the point Swooping. Footage or not he still would of pleaded guilty, for a range of reasons.... But I ask you these questions, if someone pleads guilty for striking, should it be treated more or less severe then someone who pleads innocent and is found guilty?.... and in either case, should it be weighted higher for suspected breaking bones, or suspected knocking unconsciousness?

For what it’s worth I think it’s an interesting question, and am curious to see what happens.... In any case, the appeals board will either increase, uphold, or decrease his sentence.

Given he pleaded guilty the only appeal can be against the sanction. King hitting a player ( eg striking an unsuspecting player ) I believe should be a minimum 10 weeks for a first offence. If as alledged and vision seems to show , two of these offences occurred within a minute of each other.
10 for first , upward of 15 for the second given the proximity in time of the previous incident wouldn’t seem unreasonable, 2 weeks Discount on the first for pleading guilty would still have it at a 23 week collective penalty.
Yep any club can appeal a tribunal sanction and in this case ,if he pleaded guilty , the club must feel the sanction didn’t fit the offence which is the clubs call and as always they’ll be scrutinised for.
