That Radiohead thread was hilarious indeed. Bunsen you just gotta chill out man. We're all sensitive music critics, but you almost seemed more irritated by Radiohead's fans than their music itself.

What is it about Radiohead's fans that make them so pretentious to you? I honestly don't get it.

It's not just me. It's lots and lots of people. I find half the genuine music loving population are "meh" or "boring" or "just not my thing" and the other half are "we are so f*cking smart because we listen to Radiohead, if only you guys had an IQ as high as us".

It's a stereotype, but there's a fair bit of truth in it.

I rate Kid A highly but can understand why people hate it. The rest of their catalogue is nothing more than ok really so I don't get the hero worship for the ***** that make it. Actually I like Kid A and the King Of Limbs which most Radiohead fans around here don't rate so maybe I don't like them at all.

I don't know many people who claim to like Radiohead so I don't get into any conversations about them. I find fans of the Foo Fighters far more sensitive and easier to annoy.

FF are an interesting one. I find most Fooey's fans only have a passing interest in music whereas Radiohead fans are a bit more into it. Foo Fighters are to the 00s/10s what U2 were to the 90s - safe and easy listening non offensive music.

I must admit, as luke warm as I am about the Fooeys, Dave Grohl would be a good place to be. Seems to enjoy life and seems to not be addicted to drugs. I'd be happy to play mediocre music to be in his shoes.

Powederfinger have improved with time. Started off as a weak sounding pub band and have grown into a solid sounding rock outfit that has their own original sound (unlike say Jet). Bernard Fanning's vocals are exceptional.
