He had about 5 apparently. I could only count Mark Johnson, McVeigh, maybe Davey and Lovett at times.

May I suggest a new aspect to the voting process?

Given how much we love it when we beat Essendon on Anzac Day, winning the Anzac Medal in a winning side should be an automatic 50.

Just 5 nominated people selected at the start of the year. I might try and being a more public voting system next year. Or someone else can do one (I suppose there is room for 2 awards even).

Well if its just 5 people you have selected why make it so public. If your going to do something like this why not involve everyone?

Well first of all I started this last year when I wasn't a moderator so it's not like I did this because I felt I had to. I did it because I wanted to try out a different voting system. I don't like the other voting styles where people come in and give their votes sporadically. You'll find that more people vote in a win than in a loss (which I suppose doesn't matter when they are standardised). I also liked The Age voting system, and thought it would work better than a 3-2-1/5-4-3-2-1 system because when a team gets thrashed by 100 points sometimes a player doesn't really deserve the 5 votes compared to someone who dominates the game.

I couldn't be bothered changing the system this year. I might do it with the same voting system but have sort of rotational thing going on or something like that.

Because, it's not a people's choice award, and it's also not a one-man thing.

He's selected a group of 5 posters who have varying, and relatively unbiased opinions of every game. There are certain posters who would give 10 votes to their favourite player every game, or never give votes to a particular player no matter how well they play, and it's a waste of time to have to go through and see whose votes are sensible and whose aren't.
