on the Crows appointment of Neil Craig for 3 years :D

What the hell are the Crows thinking.... seriously..
Is that you Rucci?

hahahahhaa

I have no doubt Rucci is home laughing, this is what he wanted. Next step is to encite a large supporter group to throw the AFC into turmoil and to openly speak out against the club. I can see it coming, why else would Rucci have wanted Craig appointed unless it was going to be a decision that would hurt the Adelaide Football Club.

Eade close to taking Dog job
By Mark Stevens
August 13, 2004

RODNEY EADE is warming as favourite for the Western Bulldogs coaching job, with an announcement possible as early as next week.

Although Dogs officials remain tight-lipped, Eade is clearly their No.1 choice for the job.

The Dogs' coaching sub-committee has been working feverishly behind the scenes in recent days as Hawthorn takes a more public approach to its coaching search.

There appears to be growing confidence they will get their man.

Club president David Smorgon and chief executive Campbell Rose have had commitments in the Northern Territory in the lead-up to tomorrow night's clash with Port Adelaide at Marrara, but it hasn't slowed the club's progress.

The Dogs see Eade as the ideal man to bring out the best in several young players who have treaded water this year.

Eade is also rated as a master tactician who can carry out major surgery on the club's game plan.

He also has the media nous to sell the club, providing a boost to membership.

Adelaide yesterday announced Neil Craig as their coach for the next three years, ruling Eade out of that job.

Eade was in Adelaide on Monday, making a presentation to the Crows' coaching sub-committee.

Asked if he was surprised senior sub-committee member Wayne Jackson was not there, Eade said: "It was disappointing. It made me wonder whether it was set in concrete before I actually made the trek."

Thank you for being so unprofessional AFC.

Even Mike Sheehan knows something is wrong...

Craig's credentials stack up, but why now?
13 August 2004 Herald Sun

PERHAPS we're just too far removed to know the real story, but Adelaide's handling of its coaching position is intriguing, to say the least.

No promises: Adelaide chairman Bill Sanders says no promises were made to Neil Craig when he stepped in to the breach.

What an odd time to appoint Neil Craig as long-term coach.

It is just six weeks since he was named interim coach, only three weeks before the temporary appointment was to expire.

He has been reappointed after two wins from six games. After the Crows kicked a total of 21 goals in three games.

Obviously, Craig's task simply was not to mess up rather than convince people of his talents.

Why, then, wasn't he appointed immediately Gary Ayres departed? He is, after all, in his seventh year at the club.

On the other hand, why wasn't the appointment left until the end of the season, when the coaching sub-committee had a nine-week period to review?

Adelaide chairman Bill Sanders said yesterday no promises were made to Craig when he stepped in to the breach.

Yet, Rodney Eade had to make his detailed presentation to the Crows in the last week without senior sub-committee member Wayne Jackson in attendance. Odd.

Eade has excellent credentials and had to measure up well against Craig and anyone else in the mix.

He deserved the sub-committee's total interest and attention.

But Adelaide's lack of interest is good news for the Western Bulldogs and maybe even Hawthorn, although it is impossible to know what they're up to at Hawthorn.

The Doggies seem suitably excited by Eade, while he rates the playing list much better than 14th place and four wins suggests.

Craig may prove to be a huge success. He was an outstanding player in the SANFL, he is a man of vast experience, he has worked closely with Malcolm Blight and Gary Ayres.

He knows the players and is happy to invest his faith in youth, without downgrading his senior men.

It's a healthy picture, but none of that alters the fact the timing is odd.

Mate, I wouldn't be saying these things to us being a WC supporter.

After all, it was your club who was going to appoint Craig as coach over Worsfold.

The key word there snakebite was GOING to.. Eagles were smart enough to see that Craig wasnt good enough to be a senior coach, but Adelaide on the other hand...

No it's not, the key phrase is "Craig pulled out of contention after pleas from coaches and players alike to stay in Adelaide"

Why do you dislike the Crows that much?

My guess that it isn't about the Crows, but rather about Craig.

Craig nearly got the job in WA over Woosha, remember ? There was apparently a lot of protest amongs Eagles fans over Craig's pending appointment.

Anyway, to an Eagles fan, having rejected Craig and installed Woosha ... it could prove painful if the Crows progress and the Eagles don't.

Draw your own conclusions.

HAHA Hilarious stuff.... nice stretch. There was a reason there was a lot of protest amongst Eagles fans here... the players and supporters here respect Woosha. The players and supporters in WA don't know Neil Craig from a pile of ******** in the street. He is a little man who speaks like a Jockey and is as inspiring as watching a tea bag in hot water. Nobody here respects him. Everyone respects Worsfold. There is your difference.

Total Package is right, Adelaide are going to be entreched at the bottom of the AFL table for years to come... Neil Craig? Hahaha :p

Nice one fool, we dont give a rats tossbag about WA, so you opinion means less than nothing, please feel free to take you laughably small and norrow minded comments back to where you came from.

And it has worked so well for you !! Since worsfold has taken over your silver ware has just been rolling in !!! If nothing else you have given the Crows the chance to hammer one team in the finals everytime we play in them !

Another moron, another predictable comment from yet another of the mentally challenged trolls of this world, but seeing as you location is Anfield I am not surprised. I expect you are a massive under achiever as late, just like the tenants of the Stadium.

Its only predictable because its a well known fact that next season Adelaide aren't going to achieve anything what-so-ever under Neil Craig.

If anything, Craig is probably a better coach than Worsfold and Eagles made the wrong decision if that was their two options.

You can't choose a coach just because he is a past player. Total Package again proves he knows nothing about football - just because an ex-player is 'respected', doesn't mean he can coach well...what a stupid, ludicrous, ********shaft kind of statement.

Schwab...Frawley...Watson...Shaw...they're all just champion coaches aren't they?

Talking of respect - on the Adelaide Board you respect Adelaide supporters, or buggar off!!!
