I'm reliably told by my purple loving friend that Taberner, Hannath and Apeness are guns and are going to dominate the league one day. Of course he's told me that the last 3 seasons or so, still waiting for just one of them to step up.
Ah yes those spuds . McInnes is better than all of them and would probably have played 50+ games for freo

I have repeatedly been told similar by my Purple ( spits on ground ) Mates.
Taberner will be a handy player but only a bit better than average. no more no less.
Hannath is shit.
Apeness....lol..... he makes QStick look nimble , Apeness has a massive turning circle.

Now Alex Pearce will be an out and out star he is their best young KPP.......... sorry their only KPP of any note.

I have been enjoying all the news stories about Zac Dawson holding down the #1 KPD role this year

Duggan definitely rusty, been close to 8 months since he last played footy.

Cole looks like a faster version of Nelson, no frills honest defender.

Adamson had patches of promise. Massive shoulders.

Barrass looked good on Walker in the first quarter, out marked him once and held his own.

Hutchings battled the whole game.

Lamb looked a bit better towards the end, his endurance shining through.

Partington looked good in a couple of patches, lacked support.

Allen looks okay, just needs to learn how to time his leads a bit better.

Lucas, Colledge and Karpany are deadset spuds.
Did not see or hear the game as was down at Trigg having a barbecue breakfast with friends - Did Brown play and if so, how did he go?

Yes he played, in defense. Looks the same as he used to; just panics and rushes his disposal. Is fit at the very least and may be better with some quality around him.

Height is advantageous yeh but not the overall be all and end all. Right now according to the record he is only a centimetre shorter than Walker, a centimetre taller than Pavlich, 2 cemtimetres taller than Darling and the same height as Gunston.
Yeah but neither gunston, darling and walker full fowards. darling and gunston are more like third talls/second talls. I dont think walkers around 193cm anymore ( afl clubs rarely update heights of players) and probably mid to high 190's in height. With his tank and abillity to mark on the lead, can see allen becoming a good chf.

i saw the game in patches but why is lamb getting praised here? It looks like he got well held by talia the whole day.

No reason Allen couldn't grow another few cm's though

I think Cole has better hands and agility than Nelson. He seemed clever in traffic a couple of times.

Giles looked goofy but battled hard, did well against a top ruck, but I liked that he followed up. Tried hard to nullify at ground level. Bit to work with and could offer as much as Sinclair, and certainly more at the contest.

Partingtons quick and finds space well.

Barrass was solid, I like him, though he needs support as he gets led past the contest and needs to be aware of space behind in the f50.

Adamson was beast in patches.

Lamb competed hard when the ball was near. He is a good mark and is handy on the move. Twice he opened up space in the 50.

Bennell impressed at times.

Honestly could not give a shit about today's game. No injuries so great.

Anyone getting a upset over it, like seriously we didn't even take 26 players up there when we could of. No team is going to put in a strong team away in 38 degrees. Why would you.
Lucky they had a reserves show up.

True enough. But we will have a bit of a struggle having lamb, darling and allen in the side (when jk retires) as all three of them are about the same size and are better off being 2nd/third talls.

WC have so much goal kicking power, plus Lycett an McGovern are genuine talls.

Yeh fair point, none of them really project as a full forward, not really sure what Lamb is going to be.

McGovern does and Lycett is a better forward than ruck. Honestly, WC have so many options. Most clubs don't even have a tall as good as Darling.

More important is our midfield. We still need some young dynamic stoppage beasts. Sheed looks good, but you want him getting free from stoppages to use his kicking.

Jeezbus you are obsessed with heights and weights. It's not friggin a body building contest, it's football. #1 you want footballers, #2 you want athletes, #3 you want big bodies. If you can get all three in a player then brilliant but I I'm not sure how Hawthorn are going for their fourth premiership in a row if heights and weights are so critically f'in important!!!!

PS. Really though, I just wanted to get in on a melt. Am I doin' it right? Or did I provide too much of a logical argument and not enough raw emotion? I even went back and inserted some extra profanaties... Yep ok, I'm doin' it wrong I guess. Apparently between the players that played poorly today and those from the GF we are going in to round 2 of NAB with just 3 players.

A contracted ruck for an uncontacted player if I recall correctly, I did smack my head on the desk trying to figure out his Sydney got away with that robbery so my memory is fuzzy.

Yep but Sinclair is more easily replaceable and Jetta was targeted as part of a premiership push.

Straight swap was about right given we didn't have the picks to satisfy Sydney and there are obvious risks in trying to work out a more complex deal or bargain hard at the table.

I'd be really surprised if we don't have Gaff on one wing and Jetta on the other come Round 1, injury permitting.

Obviously game was a write off but coming from a Freo supporter Jordan Snadden looks like he has a heap of potential. Also like the look of Partington and Allen was Ok forward.

Something to take away.

Yeah true but i wouldnt be surprised if lamb stays loyal. I have heard from a few news reports that darlings been working on his contested marking this year and in the coming years that aspect of his game could improve. In the past he has been our number 1 forward and has delivered at that as well. The go at the moment seems to be sides having one beast (200-195cm, 105kg) forward and two low 190cm forwards. Allen at FF and Darling at CHF and Lamb on forward flank could work for us when jk hangs up his boots. What they lack in size and strength a bit, they offer endurance, strength and mobility, which are traits needed in the game today. Still wish that allen has a growth spurt.

Missed the game originally but now watching the replay. Bennel looking good in the forward line and Allen looks like a big unit already

wut

Firstly, no he isn't, secondly who cares. Height and weight are overrated metrics.

im saying that combo could work. But allen for that size and this stage of his career has a long way to go before he can be an AFL quality AFL full forward. Size and Height is only overrated if you cant kick (eg butcher and casbolt)
