Hi Pie Fans

Do you guys have any idea who would be likely to play who in the Semi Finals of the NAB Cup should they progress from the Quarter Finals this week????

I'm "hoping" Collingwood will play the winner of St Kilda Vs Geelong

and IF Essendon get through we'll get the winner of the West Coast Vs Gold Coast match (here at Etihad).

You would think it would make sense that the winners of the first 2 games (Thursday and Friday night) play each other, and then the Saturday Night and Sunday Night games play each other the week later.

But the AFL rarely makes sensible decisions in regarding to fixturing, and seeing as their website gives you no idea, I guess we will have to wait and see.:)

It's definitely Melb/Ess vs Coll/Syd next Fri night and Geel/Stk vs WCE/GC next Sat night

How do you know this and where is the link?

I'm guessing the AFL will want Collingwood/Syd Vs Geelong/St Kilda on Friday night because of the tv ratings on Channel 7 and Melb/Ess Vs West Coast/Gold Coast will be on Fox on Saturday night.

As far as I can tell it is up to the discretion of the AFL this year.

If it is at the discretion of the AFL you'd think they would try and keep the pies and saints away from each other and hope they make the granny.

True, Collingwood vs Stkilda (or Geelong) would be the dream NAB Cup final for the AFL from here, so I'd expect we won't see either side unless we make the final.

There's about a 99% chance we will play the winner of Essendon/Melbourne, as I said before, it just makes sense on every level.

The "dream" NAB Cup GF for the AFL would be Collingwood vs Gold Coast.

Gold Coast would receive the maximum exposure with the assistance of the powerhouse club in the comp.

Whilst a Coll (if we get there) vs Geel/StK would be great, they would much prefer getting as much exposure into GC as possible.

Just imagine if GC went on to defeat the reigning premier!

One mission complete for the AFL.

Do my eyes deceive me or is Big Shae named for this weeks squad.

Will not know until Sunday Night
Yep, even if we win, the AFL with all it's wisdom (or lack of maybe) has decide that the NAB Cup still has a "floating fixture", even at this stage.

I suspect we may be going to Western Australia next week to play WCE if we both win, but that's just a plain old guess.

You play West Coast in Perth OR the Gold Coast.

Unfortunately we will play St Kilda AGAIN or Geelong.

Here's hoping for an Essendon Vs Collingwood Preseason GF to get us in the mood for the real season.

SEN are sure we play WC in Perth if they win. Also said the final will be at the G'.

Our next opponent is WC in Perth, or GC at Etihad. Could be headed for another Saints v Pies GF.

SEN ARE WRONG.:thumbsd:

No one knows who plays who at the moment, so on the odd chance they are right (1 in 3 chance) then it will be a fluke.

Surely the AFL won't pass up a Collingwood vs Essendon semi final blockbuster.

It makes absolute no sense that we would play the winner of WCE vs GC, they will have a 5 or 6 day break, we will have a 7 or 8 day break, just stupid, but then again, it's the AFL and fixturing, so anything's possible.

Yep, ignore everything I have said, the AFL has gone nuts.
