I have noticed on the radio and in my travels around town that at the mearest mention of footy there are a multitude of agitated defensive budgie wagoners circulating. Anybody else noticed this change in mood.

Well now would be the time to start a thread on the eagles board.
Titled: Will there be any excuses if west coast lose??

You guys are the seisemometers detecting the tremors before the huge earthquake that will be the shifting of the tectonic plates if we win this game, and finish higher in the finals.

If we do that we'll have broken even over 4 seasons. There will be a huge paradigm shift in how the media, and Eagles supportes will have to perceive the two teams.

We won't be on the defensive and there will be a lot of payback going on. I've already begun my preparation for a possible grand final appearance by daily practice "Yeah, the Eagles were fantastic this year, and perhaps they can get back up there next year." -- with the most condescending tone I can muster.

2003: FFC finished higher
2004: Weags finished higher
2005: Weags finished higher
2006: FFC higher

ie over 4 years there would be 2 years where the Bluenyella Peril finished higher, and 2 where FFC finished higher.

Maybe this perception is a case of wisfull thinking on your behalf


Your team has more to lose after all.

Lets face it

If the Dockers lose the Derby. The consequece is the possibility of being knocked out in a sudden death final in two weeks time.

If The Eagles loses the Derby. The consequence is that we may lose the home ground advantage in two weeks time.

But you do an excellent job of highlighting the delusion and arrogance of so many West Coast supporters. There's very little sportsmanship in a lot of you fellas. Never admit that we might have been better. That's why we have threads where we guess your excuses for after the match.

It's not cockiness, it's anticipation. If we can win a few more games we have the chance to give 50,000 West Coast supporters a right royal raspberry.

(I suspect it might not be the only symbolic gesture. I'd photocopy my backside, scan it and stick it on the Weagles board but not many have a 21" monitor.)

We know we're not over the line, and the WCE are a formidable team -- but we are so close we can taste it.
