Yet the commentators on Friday were talking Newnes up , saying its been his best year.
I suppose if he kicks a goal in the forward line they notice him.

Piss Little boy Lonie off and get Freezer in. We gotta look at him sometime. If he plays out the year in VFL he has to be delisted right? Playing well enough in VFL to get a chance to show what he can do at AFL level. Just get him in you freckled Campaigner FFS!

I nearly spat out my beer when I heard that too. Bruce is an idiot, he's just a professional wind up doll for full of rehearsed lines now, but I think the record got stuck last night and he didn't know what to say. He hasn't been incredible but I have liked his move to the forward line. He started slowly but has built and kicked 13.15 which shows that he is creating opportunities (although not accurate). The move has also freed up space on the hbf for guys like McKenzie and Rice.

Imo, playing in the forward line is harder as you get less cheap easy possessions. If he can continue to improve I can see him being a good option next year to take over from Mav's role.

Newnes has kicked 0.8 in 3 games (v Adel, v Geel & v Syd) so otherwise he's been pretty accurate.

His 2018 numbers look a lot like Mav's 2015 numbers once Mav moved into the forward line from the midfield.

Been playing wounded all year, and before anyone says, he shouldn't be playing, 80% of players are carrying something this time of year.
Think Newnes has been treated harshly by the hobbyists.

Pretty sure the club know exactly where freeman is whether he plays or not.

At the risk of stating the obvious, why would you paint a big red target on that shoulder? Got enough on his shoulders already ;)
 
Would love for the kid to play. Feel as though we missed an opportunity against Blues, would of been an “easier” game for him to debut in. Understand club is trying to say it’s about form now, but for this guy it should of always been match fitness and confidence to back himself running full speed. If they play him Friday it will be very poor management.....ahhh crap I’ve just realised he’ll be playing now if it comes down to poor management, something saints love to do :)

I reckon our last 3 games are tagged as winnable and Cho would not want to be debuting Freeza in any of them. It makes sense to put him in now and "if" he can hack it then he stays part of the selection pool till years end, and whoever is down on form misses out.
