Na, Steele was pick 24 in the following draft where we took Paddy, Hugh, and DMac.

Sinclair was a decent addition to the 2013 crop though, albeit from the rookie draft...

Na, Steele was pick 24 in the following draft where we took Paddy, Hugh, and DMac.

Steele was bid on w North's first round pick (~16 from memory)... rules then required next to to be used so hence pick 24 odd.

Essentially steele was a first round pick in today's language and system.

Technically yes and no, North bid with their first rounder (pick 16), back then Western Sydney could match with their next available pick which was a second rounder (pick 24)

Finally something to smile about, congrats Freeza!! Great story of perseverance, love his attitude.

And Joffaboy nailed it, as excited as we all are to finally see him get his debut we need to temper our expectations now. Reality is the bloke has never played at this level, in fact he's never even played a pre-season game since his first year at Collingwood, he's played very little footy in the last 5 years due to injury and he's not the same player he was when he was drafted. If he goes out and has an unimpressive game then that's OK, don't criticize him for it.

It remains to be seen what sort of role he'll be playing, but personally I'd be rapt if he ended up with 15-20 disposals and a goal, which would be a great moment.

I would very much doubt there will be one critical comment of him on this board after the game....WILL THERE, PEOPLE????
