yep smart sense

Yes me to, does he have any facts or sources to back that post up or just an assuming guess feeling ???

Word from SA (Port official) that the rumors doing the rounds over there are that Danger has committed to Pies in a 6 year $6M deal. Time will tell.

Maybe the surgeon could just remove his quads and calves and have them surgically implanted into Ben Reid. If we could get one usable player out of the two of them that wouldn't be so bad...

True, but we persisted with Josh Thomas and we'll persist with Freeman. I don't feel great about it because I didn't like him before the draft either, but Hine knows better than I do.

Hate to say it but Cripps McCarthy and Sheed at 11 13 14 are looking bloody enticing right about now.

So he will need surgery and then he needs to come back through the vfl this a joke. It's goig to be 2016 that's if we even decide to keep him.

Well the is Hindsight 20/20

You never know they might find something that could speed up his recovery and fix the problem.

Speed up his recovery? he was meant to be already recovered by now, he has played 5 VFL games. All this means is the tendon hasn't healed properly from the original tear which is why he has struggled in the VFL and now having surgery on it. Best case scenario this ruins most of his 2015, worst case scenario... It's an injury he never properly recovers from.

Interesting it was mentioned that his hamstring has been causing him problems and he hasn't been able to get up to full speed regularly. Some (or one) on here seem to have written him off already, but there seems to be a reason he has been playing like he's holding back a bit.

They are exploring the area due to inflammation. It doesn't mean he has done another hammy injury but rather looking at what could be causing a disturbance. My At least that's what I'm hoping.

Mate I would MUCH rather he has pulled his hammy again rather than have inflammation around the tendon 12 months post OP

Jesus. It really depresses me that so many of our supporters are such drama queens. I suggest you all run to your bedrooms and have a good cry in to your pillows. The sun will come up tomorrow. We will be alright.

Just putting it out there man , I'm not a surgeon are you?

My only issue with the reasoning is it is way to convenient. He's apparently been injury free since September, did all the pre season, aced all the running trials so on and so forth. The club would know before now, just by dealing with Nathan and looking at GPS data, 20m sprint times etc that he isn't getting up to the same speed. It's not something that happens over the weekend. So either this is a new injury the club doesn't want to tell us about. OR our data analysts haven't been doing their job.

Explains why his pre season form has dropped off.

Medium term, what's that 4-6 week so?

You could tell watching him in the VFL something wasn't right, his hammy wasn't right since round 1 and I guess they hoped it would get better... 5 games later and here we are.
But if it's as simple as he can't get up to the same speed. This should of been noted before games are being played. Im all for the surgery if it gets him playing better and he needs it. Something just doesn't sit right with me. Probably just reading too much into it however.

Feel sad for the kid. One day....eventually....he is going to be ok and be a gun footballer. When that day comes we will all forget these times.

Seedsman had exploratory surgery on his hip during the off season so all is not lost.
And he's currently out with what seems a related complaint.

We could take a poll as to who will ever play/return to AFL first: Scharenberg, Freeman or Reid. Or "will they ever play AFL?"

Want to support and be positive about these lads, but it's been cruelly disappointing and it doesn't seem clear that it's over yet.
