You just stick your head in the sand and assume everything will be sunshine and rainbows and anyone who is more realistic has no idea.

Freeman could make a full recovery and go onto be an AA superstar, but missing 2 years with a hamstring injury that isn't healing properly is a very serious issue.

Why don't you write your concern to the club instead.

I'm not happy that he is not playing either. Won't help him recover bagging him on Big Footy.
What would I have to achieve by bagging half the players on our list like some of the d1ckheads regularly do on this site?
I go to every game, am a member and that is all that matters to me.

I don't feel people are bagging Freeman. We can't bag him as we haven't seen him play.

We are all frustrated - and rightfully so. A top 10 pick who is a burst player is exactly what our midfield needs.

We just want to know what is happening exactly with him and how serious the issue is. The club could ease a lot of our concerns by being more informative when it comes to injuries like these. It does them no harm at all to give full disclosure on Freeman's injury and the progress (or lack thereof) that he is making.

The club thought he'd be back 18 months ago.. they are not trying to run an injury conspiracy

But we are in new territory in the modern game

30 years ago you never heard of a hammy

15 years ago a hammy was 3 weeks

Now we have season ending tendon hammys

Players are driven to the edge in the modern game and much like an F1 car they become fragile as more and more weight is stripped away and more and more power and speed is added

What you ask from the club can't be given, you may as well ask Lavinia for a weather forecast 6 months out for all the accuracy they could give you

The modern game is unprecedented and injuries are a dynamic system that we are struggling to learn on the trot

Exactly. We knew he was going in for surgery and was told it was successful and minor. Since then he hasn't played and now he doesn't look like returning any time soon. What's going on with him.

I never said I knew how his hamstring will end up.
I don't know how many 19 year olds careers have ended because of a hamstring injury.

I have never once mentioned anything about his career ending. It's hard to have this debate when none of your points make any sense. Who exactly is bagging Freeman and saying his career is over?

Some decorum please guys. We are all frustrated about Freeman, but I'm sure none of us are feeling as bad or frustrated as he is. The club will be doing everything in its power to get him right.

people need to remember to pace themselves....freeman has a few weeks before he is supposed to get a game so we need to keep up the intensity for that whole period. I suggest that a few posters take a week off this thread and take a break and then come back even harder. I also think we should see more blame placed on davoren and bucks. I like the use of conspiracy theory but we need to link it to reid and other injuries. Good work to everyone so far...

I'm starting to fear that after a couple of prelim finishes in 2016/17/18 we are going to look back at the 2013 Draft and think what might have been. **** I hope both come through and deliver on their potential. If they do, with the way we killed the 2014 and 2012 drafts we are in 16 territory.

Didn't say we should or have written off Freeman. Just saying that with 20/20 hindsight, if we knew what 2014 and 2015 were going to hold, I suspect we would have taken McCarthy.

You may as well be talking about Danny Roach, we were up front before the draft and stated we wanted more speed and size around the ball, a little bit of luck and it would have been Bontempelli and Aish.. but it was never going to be McCarthy

Next year will be 3 years since we draft him, he has lost 2 years of development and unfortunately time will pass him by... Oh the hindsight!
