These are the all time records for draft combine 20 meter sprint:

Top Combine performances (seconds)
Joel Wilkinson 2.75 2010
Jonathan Marsh 2.78 2013
Danyle Pearce 2.79 2004
Ashley Smith 2.80 2008
Marvin Baynham 2.81 2014
Nathan Freeman 2.82 2013
Jack Watts 2.82 2008

Our own Big Show Brenden Abbott ran 2.87 in 2013
Therefore we have 3 guys on our list that are right up there.
I cannot believe Jack Watts is that fast.
Also surprised Joel Wilkinson was de-listed by Gold Coast.
He looked like he could play.

The big concern is that no one on that list has played decent AFL footy.

Ben Sinclair ran 2.84 in his draft year.

A wee bit of an update in the Scott Burns interview. Apparently hes improving and close to pre-hamstring speed in training, great news :thumbsu:

Have you got the top performances for the repeat sprints? I think that tells a lot more

Apparenlty Wilksinson is a freak athlete benching 160kg and winning the 2km time trial at GCS back in the day: http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...-the-afl-shadows/story-e6frg6n6-1226566296807

Playing at Northern Blues these days, not sure if he's playing well or not: http://www.foxsportspulse.com/team_...=192148830&client=1-118-10464-339767-20320225

Does that mean they are confident he will make a 100% recovery?
Honestly wouldn't know. It certainly seems like an indicator that the problem from earlier this year has been corrected at least

OK, I'm back on deck. After seeing Freeman in the flesh today (so to speak), I was overcome. I'm only human after all.

Anyway, back on planet earth, really hope he has turned the corner.

Thanks all for your consideration of my mental and emotional health.

If you'd played your cards right Nathan could have given you the kiss of life. :rainbow::fire::rainbow:

I know it's a long shot and im not saying he will be as good but is it just me that thinks he reminds me of dangerfield body size wise and pace wise?
In terms of body shape, somewhat, but that's where the comparison ends.

Don't come on board too often. Just saw your post. Here is what you want:

Repeat Sprint
The repetitive sprint test was introduced in 2006. The test requires players to run 30m six times, with a 20-second break between each sprint.

rank score (seconds) name year
1 23.40 Joel Wilkinson 2010
2 23.46 Brad Harvey 2010
3 23.59 Chris Kangars 2007
4 23.62 Nathan Freeman 2013
5 23.64 Ahmed Saad 2011
6 23.69 Shaun Atley 2010
7 23.79 Lachlan Delgleish 2011
8 23.82 Devon Smith 2011
9 23.84 Kieran Harper 2010
10 23.87 Matthew Haynes 2011
11 23.91 Jack Fitzpatrick 2009
23.91 Matthew Haynes 2012

Looks like Freeman has the 4th best ever time.

That's a good sign!
Will Freeman play VFL this week?

Wouldn't have a clue. He has been downgraded to short term injury list.
Lots of people on here just ramble and write about doom and gloom.
The kid copped a high grade tear to his abductor last year.
Unfortunately there was complication because of scarring.
This is neither his or the clubs fault.
It's just plain bad luck.
Hopefully he is on the park soon and turns out to be a good player for us.
Any speculation about him or other players I don't bother reading on here.
The only people I listen to are the ones that make the decisions about players futures.
Everything else is irrelevant !

Judging by the names on those lists, the agility test is the only one of the athletic tests with any significance. It kind of supports a theory that I have that balance is the most significant and underrated athletic attribute that a player can have. It's a bit too early to tell with the skills tests, as they haven't been going for too long, but at this stage the clean hands test seems to be the most significant.

Yes it is, I remember Rendell interviewed and he mentioned he looks more at the beep and agility tests than any others(Beep more so from a mental point of view, not necessarily those who topped the charts, but those who pushed themselves the hardest).

Oh no, don't tell me this is going to start again.... Nothing like Danger, far smaller and far less a bash and crash type player. If you are looking for someone to compare him to, use Shuey.

Danger and Freeman are very similar in size and build for mine. Danger 185cm, 90kg, Freeman 183cm, 87 kg. Freeman you would think will end about the same playing weight as he matures. As to playing styles I havent seen enough of Freeman to comment. Size wise Shuey is in the same ball park 183cm, 88 kg.

I think a lot of people dont realise Dangerfield isnt a tall mid in the mould of Pendles, Fyfe, Barlow, Mundy, Watson, Ziebell or Kennedy. Danger is more Swans size but slightlt lighter.
