Time to stop having a crack at the boy.
If it was your son who'd been at a club for 2 years injured, how would you feel about it?
Then along comes the team your whole family, (supposedly) barracks for and offers you a fresh start.
Not only that, they will give you 3 years of certain income, not income based on a contingency.
Alternatively, he can stay at the club where he's been injured and sign a contract with an injury clause in it, (which by the way I understand being in his contract).
FFS - give the kid a break, let him go and let's move on.
Nothing more needs to be said
Thankyou Anzac

A sample of one does no such thing. He's not the first and won't be the last under any fitness team.

Marsh has ripped his left and right hamstring completely off the bone in his two years at the club.

Knew the Bont would be gone before our pick, clearly remember it was Shaz or Aish then hope the one we didn't pick dropped to 10
A few weeks before the draft Bont wasn't even in top 10 contention. Then it was revealed the pies were interested and he shot in to top 5. Imagine if our interest hadn't leaked and we got Shaz at 6 and Bont at 10....

Sigh......

LOL at me !!!
I am so p1ssed off at the moment it's best I refrain from commenting.
I never though Freeman would leave.
Who leaves a club that gets regular blockbusters in fron of 80k crowds & best facilities to play for minnows.
A d1ckhe@d !!!
A bit harsh on the young man. Especially if he can't get to play in front of 80k crowds . 'Best' facilities is a bit contentious too.

The bulldogs didn't selected him just because they heard we liked him. That would be insane.

I have absolutely no problem with Freeman going for garaunteed money. I have been saying all along that is the smart thing to do.

I do have problems if anyone is publicly coming out and saying they think he has been medically mismanaged, or that the surgeon is at fault... that is libelous, and you better have some ****ing good medical evidence to back that up.
I understand families wishing the best for their kid, and I can understand that when things don't work out as planned, the first response is to look at someone, or something, to blame... unfortunately life generally doesn't work like that, and you generally can't just keep pointing blame without acknowledging that there are often lots of factors involved, and part of that could easily be pointed (potentially) at the individual himself and how he approached his recovery. (I am not suggesting this was the case - just suggesting that it is just as likely, if not much moreso, than putting blame on the surgeon and/or physios)
I can also understand if his father has a history as a an athlete, and may have his own history of hamstring injuries/recovery, and has every right to give Nathan his opinion and use that to make decisions... but don't think that that discounts someone who is, probably, an experienced specialist in this particular field. (and Freeman, his family, or the club, would always have had the opportunity to seek 2nd, or 3rd, opinions at any point if they didn't want to get ahead with what was being proposed and wanted to seek advice from elsewhere)

Thinking that the Bulldogs make their crucial drafting decision on a top 5 draft pick based on who the media thinks Collingwood is interested in :$.

How do people think that? Why is it so hard to believe that the bulldogs just liked Bontempelli like us?

If i remember correctly Bontempelli was not in top 10 calculations at midway point of the TAC cup but his back end of the year was simply outstanding, Dogs would have taken him anyway.

Spot on!
I always check what emma quayle predicts, shes a gun at knowing the lists and who pretty much wants who.
Got to give her credit shes really knowledgable

They didn't come out and say that. Officially he left for more opportunities didn't he?

If he actually believes that Collongwood mismanaged his injuries then I can't blame him for leaving. I would too if that is what i thought.

If he is leaving for money when he hasn't played a game i think that is pretty stupid to put that pressure on yourself with nothing to back it up. But if he wants to chase money again I can't blame him.

If he really is leaving for more opportunities then I think that is a pretty soft attitude to take and question his mental strength. Its not like he has been banging down the door and the coaches refuse to play him. He is making assumptions based on the list and saying I give up even though we aren't even a very good team.

I recall he was still well considrred, i check ema quayle for where players likely to go

Excellent summary. And in reference to the bolded....maybe they should sue?
If you want to put it into perspective then how would the parents of the Essendon 37 be feeling? And how much will they sue for? And why haven't their parents taken them out of the clutches of those awful medics that have cost them their careers?

Shhhhhhhh......

I'm trying to make myself feel better with far-fetched scenarios...

Sauce? ;)

Obviously a retread of someone though. If we're saying "was", is he no longer with us?

No idea, just a stab in the dark really. The way he's carrying on about the whole thing.

I'm not sure why mods ban people anyway, if they just make another account the whole thing seems pointless.

Just quietly, there's a massive, and I mean massive silver lining to this, $$$$$$$$$$$$.

If the rumoured figures are to be believed we would have had to factor into the next 2 years of the salary cap his maximum earning potential which seems to be over 300k if he played 16 games or more a year.

300k or even if we hold off until the end of next season, 600k, to spend on a player, ooh baby.

Why are we looking at 2nd and 3rd round picks? He cost us a top ten pick surely a first round pick is the way to go...

A lot of Top 10 picks not worth a first round pick after a year or two. Take a look at all the top 10 picks of the past 10 years. Many of them are average at best.

Saints would be mad to part with anything more than a 2nd round pick.
