May Natman rest in peace, and sincere condolences to all of his family and friends. And of all of his mates on here, too.

Mesothelioma is a nasty and cruel disease.

An 'RIP' badge has been attached to his profile as BigFooty's little way of honouring him.

RIP Natman, you will be missed here, but wherever you & Toots are, you'll both have great seats for our games

Seeing the title of the thread I recognised the name. Unfortunately I never knew the person but some of the posts here give you a bit of an insight. RIP Natman

RIP mate.

Natman and I adopted a couple of maligned players each year for our fan club in our signatures and we were ecstatic to resurrect or accelerate the careers of Kane Cornes, Cam O'Shea, Jack Hombsch, Alipate Carlile and others. Sadly apart from Newts we haven't been able to work our magic this year and now I know why.

Sad to lose a mate.

As Ford said we caught up with Natman over dinner at the Port Club late last year when he was in a good place with his up coming chemo treatment. He had responded to Eddie Dingle's PM around this time last year and revealed to a few of us that he wasn't well. It took him several months before he got into a place were he wanted to talk about his situation.

It took him a while to explain what was going on with his health. He initially was angry and didn't take it well, but when we met him for dinner he knew that he couldn't really control things and would accept what his fate was. For a few months after that meeting he would occasionally post or send a PM and I knew he was Ok. But the last 4 months or so he dropped right off and I feared that his Mesothelioma had taken hold of him.

I will miss seeing Natman on here and at the odd function talking Port as well as other stuff. His last decade or so of work ended up in the Oil and Gas industry doing safety training and I always enjoyed talking about his many experiences in the Middle East and Asia. I will miss those chats.

Natman in late 2011 set up a meeting with current deputy chairman Kevin Osborn with myself and fireboy. Its from that meeting that I got some good insights to where the club is going and it started a relationship with Kevin Osborn. I will always be grateful for that introduction.

RIP Natman

RIP Natman
I had the pleasure of catching up with Natman a couple of times down at Alberton and he was a fantastic all round nice guy who loved his footy and the Port Adelaide Football club. Very very sad news to hear of his passing.

Natman is my dad...
It is overwhelming to see the many nice things written about him, and the general respect with which he is afforded by the regulars on this forum. Your condolences are much appreciated and I will pass them on to the rest of the family.

Thanks everyone

I only realised yesterday I knew Natman in real life. I spoke to my parents yesterday and they mentioned a family friend named Nat had died of mesothelioma. It was only then I worked it out.

The thing is, he was of my parent's age, so I probably knew more about him from on here than in real life. Isn't modern life funny?

RIP Natman.

Don't know how I missed this thread

Very sad news. RIP Nat.

I knew Nat had cancer and although we lived near each other we had never met in person. In my last online conversation with Nat we'd agreed to meet for coffee at a local cafe when he was well enough. :(
