Nuggets vs. Warriors tomorrow for the 8th seed decider.

Hopefully the Rockets and Jazz will be resting their star players for the playoffs when we face them.

Melo has averaged 32/10/4 @ 60% shooting in the past 6.

too bad his coach sucks.

Nothing against the Pacers, but I really want Atlanta to make the playoffs (not cause they would be an easier matchup) but because the Hawks have the longest playoff drought out of any team in the NBA, and it would be nice to see them back in the playoffs (Joe Johnson is a gun)

umm we just beat SA by 20 and we restricted them to their 2nd lowest score in franchise history i believe. We cant beat them in SA. I agree the Lakers do have our number for some reason

Utah is notoriously bad at defending dynamic wing players, and Kobe happens to be the best. It's also why Houston will take a game or two off Utah - McGrady is bound to go off at least once.

I don't think you can read too much into that last SA game. They simply had a bad half. San Antonio just isn't a very good match-up for Utah, since they have a terrific SG, the best interior D in the league and they won't leave 3pt shooters open (as Suns fans can attest).

Looking at the standings now though, Utah looks like they'll play Houston and New Orleans in the first two rounds, which is the perfect match-up for them.

Dw the two below you are in the same position, Knicks beating Pistons and Magic in two consecutive night, how would've thunk it. ;) Its annoying but at the same time you dont really care unless they dont fire up for the final two games to lead in well into the playoffs.

Right now if just good for a freshener I say. :thumbsu:

Funny thing is, it's probably doing the Knicks more harm then good, winning those games :)

It's a bit of a nothing to make 8th this season. Neither team has a hope. I'm kind of proud we didn't go into tank mode though when JO and Tins were ruled out for so long. If we'd had them fit all season I think we'd be looking at the 4th seed but not to be. I expect the Hawks to make it and hopefully we can fluke something in the lottery - would love to get one of the top PG prospects...

Hmm yeah I suppose so, but It would be nice to see the Hawks back in the playoffs, they have a decent core of young players that something worth building on in the future.
BTW Should be an interesting off season for the Pacers, Donnie Walsh has left the club, and growing rumours that Larry Bird will follow suit.
Hope they keep Jim O'Brien as coach, I think he's a very good tactical coach and one worth perserving with.

I haven't followed it all that closely but I was under the impression that either Walsh or Bird would go and now that Walsh has, Bird is the main man and likely to stay for a while.

O'Brien has done about as well as he could with the cards he's been dealt. I hope he stays too.

JO reckons his knee is OK for the first time in about 2 years, so hopefully that's true and he stays. His trade value is at an all time low anyway so no point moving him for the sake of it IMO. IIRC his contract expires the season after so we'll either free up $20m then or be able to pull off a very nice trade for his expiring.

Tinsley is just about a guarantee to go though. Super talent but needs a change of scenery. Don't think we'll get much back for him but we desperately need a new PG. Diener and Murray are good backups but that's about it I reckon.

Whoa - Charlie V lighting up his old team: 25pts (of his team's 29) with 8:30 to go in the 2nd quarter

lol @ Boston..

now the choking begins!

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Boston have nothing to play for yet. They'll step it up in the last couple of games but right now what's the point of them winning, they'd rather all stay healthy and freshen up for the play-offs.

Same goes for Detroit who are being touched up by the 76ers. It just doesn't matter.

And same goes for Orlando but we're winning this game but its not necessary to, each of these three have their spot exactly sewn up.

What goes for Denver? MUST win games to get a jump on the Warriors by a game or 2 but oh no, cant beat Sacramento or Seattle. :o

says u, whos team lost to New York :o

You're really struggling to comprehend this arent you or did you not read my post at all?

If you didnt notice New York beat Detroit and Orlando in NOTHING GAMES on consecutive nights.

Boston are locked in 1st, Detroit are locked into 2nd, Orlando are locked into 3rd, we cant go anywhere other than those spots. THere is no point playing for keeps now, we gain nothing except potential injuries, better to freshen up and get ready for the post-season.

On the other hand Denver are struggling to make the playoffs, season on the line and you cant even beat Seattle or to a bit lesser extent Sacramento. Beat those two and you would be 2 games up on the Warriors and on the way to the playoffs most likely.

Embarrassing. :o:o

well whats the point of them even playing the "big 3" if they don't want to win games?

Just for match practice. You wouldnt sit them on the sidelines until the playoffs that would be silly, but you dont play with the same intensity yet. There is no point in doing so.

Anyway we just beat Chicago by 32 if it makes you feel better. :)
