NBA week 5

I like the look of Jason Thompson. Three steals and two blocks in the opening quarter, great effort. Reggie Theus obviously rates him because he was the only Kings player to play all twelve minutes in the opening quarter.

hawes, miller, thompson. not much of a frontline there, i daresay thompson's playing the best of all of them.

eh? It doesn't measure up to the Lakers, but all 3 can play. Certainly better than the majority of lottery teams, and some playoff teams as well.

Btw, Carmelo's really fallen off. He's gone from being the best scorer in the league a couple years ago, to being unable to exploit a match-up against a 6"5 SG. Very weird.

yeah that's what i meant.

farmar's just been fouled going to the rim, threw it up and it got stuck between rim and board.

go bobby brown.....aint nobody humpin around!

He has also really improved his rebounding a lot. Averaging over 8 a game this season.

Without watching any Nuggets games has his role changed at all since Billups came?

solid win by the lakers. concerning that we couldnt keep the kings under 100. our D must improve. 8 players in double digits, very balanced and even. props to trev ariza (thanks orlando) 11 rebs (5 offensive). he was everywhere in this game.

salmons = gun.

Yeah not to worried about that. Didn't watch the game but obviously it got into a shoot out which I don't really mind against poor teams like kings.

Nope. He's just missed a ton of easy shots. I think its because he's using alotta energy to focus on D, whereas in the past he would just forget about D and focus on scoring.

He's also been doing the all-round thing lately too.

NBA Keeping An Eye On KG.

A number of teams have complained about Boston forward Kevin Garnett's antics recently, and the league has taken note.

Garnett has been going after smaller guys lately, including Jose Calderon and Luke Ridnour, and it's beginning to hurt his reputation.

"He's nothing but an instigator," one executive said of Garnett.

Never seen KG get fired up at anyone over 6'5. Biggest princess in the game.

Lakers are now 11-1 :O

THe Jordan Bulls which won 72 started off 10-2 in their first 12 games.

lets see if the Lakeshow can eclipse that record.

Does anyone know if the OKC Thunder were fined for their excessive use of "Everybody Clap Your Hands" in Saturday's home game against the Hornets? It seemed that's the only play ol PJ had up his sleeve?

Does anyone here rate Nick Collison?

Everytime I see him play he always does well. Great rebounder and can run the floor.

Nope. He's just missed a ton of easy shots.

Yes and no. 2 years ago he was at over 22 shots/game, last year over 19, this year he hasn't taken more than 19 shots in any single game since Billups came on board. And despite the fewer shots, his FG% stinks so far this year.

Something's amiss. I'll watch him closely next time Denver are on.

He's Kurt Thomas without the D.

Having watched 2 Nuggets game (against LAL and Boston)... one big thing i noticed from this year and his past years is that he's hanging a lot around the perimeter now on the offensive end as opposed to the post. My guess is that a big reason for this is because of Nene.

But yeah... Melo does force a few shots, and has bricked alotta open ones.

edit: i think the whole Nuggets besides Nene, Kenyon, and Renaldo Balkman are in a shooting slump.
as of right now:
Melo - 20 ppg @ 39% FG (career low)
Billups - 18.6 ppg @ 41% FG (thats ok i guess...)
JR Smith - 11 ppg @ 38% FG, 29% 3PT (career low)
Kleiza - 9 ppg @ 39% FG, 27% 3PT (a lot lower than last season)

what a terrible offensive team.

And just as mdc and I were discussing the shiteness that is Randy Foye he takes 23 points and 14 assists in Detroit.

And the Wolves take a rare road win.

LMAO ... This coming from a Knicks fan ..

I'm proud of KG's effort and hustle, especially since coming to Boston, quite frankly he's actually being the victim of some over zealous refering IE that ridiculous suspension for bitch-slapping Bogut

And now some bitter whiny sooks are are trying to turn KG into another Bill Laimbeer !!! Now there was a thug who ever graced the basketball court.

People who complain about KG's hustle and style of play are weak as urine.

You could get away with a lot more in the NBA in the 80's and 90's IMHO.

We're constantly getting challenged more often physically by teams who are trying to resort to 'cheap' tacitcs to try bring the down the defending champions, and if KG sometimes goes a bit OTT, that is fair game.

BTW LOL @ Detroit today !!! :D :D

He did slap Bogut in a bitchy, close my eyes and swipe like an effeminate kangaroo and then act like I've been attacked to the refs kinda way. So I guess that counts to his tough points. There's some amusing youtube around of KG running from fights he's started.

I no! Who watched the game? Wtf happened?

The NBA. Where Iverson's defense (doesn't) happen.

Since being traded, has conceded;
- 38 points to Devin Harris
- 18 points to Beno Udrih
- 17 points to CJ Watson
- 25 points to Mo Williams
- 18/8 to Rajon Rondo
- 23/14 to Randolph Foye

It's even more amazing considering the very solid defensive squad around him.

We wont beat it.

Especially if we continue to play we played today.

Looooong way to go.

Why is this board so quiet? I mean the amount of people I see in other boards that have pictures of NBA players or listed NBA teams in their other teams makes me surprised of how relatively quiet it is here
