How odd. Move on.

I don't think we need to fill that position that Craig would have occupied. Put the $400k we would have spent (and the $600k the Dees will spend) into the FTF

Brilliant quotes from Trav20!!!!

Would be good if we could keep the discussion about the actual appointment or nonappointment.
Melbourne supporters are welcome to post here, but need to remember who's board they are on.
I'm not really in the mood for a pissing contest between both sets of supporters. In fact after the Red Sox just blew a 9-game lead in the wildcard playoffs, I am not in a good mood at all.

1. How does this affect Melbourne's 2012 snow trip plans?

2. Schwab, Rawlings, Royal.

3. Now big bad Cwaigy isn't coming does that mean Maric won't be scwared? I'm pretty sure Rance and Maric on a membership drive poster would get my die hard Bluebagger missus to buy a Tiger membership.

4. Schwab, Rawlings, Royal.

5. Ross Smith.

You got to love this shit:

"I am convinced through my dialogue with Cameron Schwab, Garry Lyon and the board, that the Melbourne Football Club is serious about becoming a high performance football club," Craig told the Demons website.

“I love the history of the Melbourne Football Club. When I walk through the MCG and look at the honor boards I see that the Melbourne Football Club started this game, wrote the rules and have produced some all time great coaches."

I mean how ****ing corney can you get dude....so why dont you tell us Neil, which team in the whole ****ing comp, isnt serious about becoming a high performance club? By the way, what is this new you beaut saying, "high performance club"? I am tipping the crows were also serious in becoming a high performance club, after you got the nod there. THey were before you got there and now they are nowhwere....
What a load of absolute BS feel good shit, that by and large means shit...
It also must have been the first time you walked into the MCG then...becuase if you loved all that shit, then tipping you wouldnt have had to talk to another 4 clubs..."they wrote the ****ing rules"?...LMAO...fool, take a look at the rules...see which of those rules are left dip stick...

Its cool though, wherever Cameron Schwab is involved in the hiring, the shit will hit the fan sooner rather than later. ;)

I have learnt from the Jordan Mcmahon/Dustin Martin blessing one thing.

Be careful what you wish for. Got a feeling things will work out just fine one way or another for the tigers. One door closes another opens, who is to say the resources wont be allocated better elsewhere, lets just watch as it all unfolds eh.

Congratulations to the demons for getting their man. Now whether that man is the RIGHT man for THAT job, well, thats another issue entirely.

Wowee.

This thread does more back flips than a shit soccer player.
Think u will find we pulled out of the race but whatever u want to believe.

Also, i think people on here would be disappointed if we hadn't signed Ross Smith yesterday.

Yeah, he's been terrible. So terrible that he took Craig from under your noses. Oh wait, no one here wanted him anyway

yeah he also set us up back in the days for 3 decades of misery, then got on the Melbourne bandwagon and it became a basket case, then went over to "fix" freo and grabbed the visionary coach Conolly to put the finishing touches on the misery. Then with all that success all over his CV, yep you guessed it, Melbourne pounced....and now you have Neeld as a coach and have lost a gun number 1 pick. Yep Cameron is the right man for the job...;)

I dare say Craig's decision had nothing to do with the clubs but the different positions on offer. A coaching role under Hardwick, or an overarching role above Neeld reporting directly to the CEO.

Melbourne remains eager to employ Craig as director of elite performance, a role which would involve some mentoring of new coach Neeld, but also help oversee the sport-science program at the club.

Richmond wants Craig in a pure coaching role as senior assistant to Damien Hardwick.

Brisbane were offering a similar position to Richmond, the Blues a different position again. He's picked the job that most appeals to him, not the club.

That article isn't actually correct. We didnt offer him just an assistant spot.

But yes you are correct he would have picked the job that he would enjoy the most.

The lack of news linking Richmond to Craig in the past few weeks is probably a good indication our club lost interest. Congratulations though. I'm sure all 10 Demons fans are excited.
The last couple of articles to come out back up what i said as well.

I think that's right. And that we didn't offer the most.

That's why he asked Carlton for final offer today. When they said we want to think about it, he had to look after the $. He did lose a packet in Firepower...
