Wouldn’t think so. But if they’ve got little take up and $1m worth of ‘sack nix’ requests, they might reconsider.

Well I like the idea of the picket donation
So I got one. It’s a family Christmas present to my family in South Aussie and us up here in Darwin.
The inscription denotes that acknowledgement of supporters from different parts of Aussie
Would love to have it as a memoir

Surprised at how fast it’s coming up! Hadn’t been following it for a while and thought it was still years away. Definitely worth a trip over for a look and catch a game too. Is it a big walk from HQ to Adelaide oval? I wonder if they’ll have the bar open on game days so people could have a few pre drinks or food and then head over, or stay and watch on a tv?

You could walk it if you really wanted to but it’d be a good hour or so walk.

There is a bus on the doorstep that’ll take you into the city though.

The facility isn’t designed to be a match day fan facility though.

Direct, through the parklands and suburbs it's about 3km. Or a bit over 1km to the tram stop.

It will be interesting how they do the linear trail area up - especially between Port Road and South Road, including the new Southwark development, Bowls Club etc. It would be a longer walk/ride/e-scoot but with time, some good walking shoes and some good refreshment establishments along the way, could be a nice longer walk.

A bit of a cost blowout. Thanks, protestors.

WORK ON CROWS’ NEW NEST ISFLYING
Adelaide is hoping to train at its new headquarters by November next yearas the $105m project remains ahead of schedule. Fresh photos supplied to The Advertiser show the latest progress at theCrows’ base at Thebarton, 10 months into construction. Light tower foundations have been poured, the final stages of roof andstructural steel are underway, glazing has begun, work on oval retainingwalls is happening, and workers are starting the internal fit-out of thetraining and administration centres.
Adelaide chairman John Olsen said the redevelopment was still ahead ofschedule by several months, but hosting an AFLW game next yearremained unlikely.“The project is gathering apace,” Mr Olsen told The Advertiser.“A number of people have said to me when they drive down South Rd andthey’re gobsmacked at the size of this facility, and the amount of workthat’s been done on it.“The fact that a project of this size and scale is tracking ahead of schedule isreally pleasing.“Being ahead of schedule means some cost savings can be built in to offsetincreases in costs in other areas.“Bearing in mind delays can come out of left field in any construction, butwe’re hopeful men’s training can take place there next year at the end ofNovember.“It’s tracking really well, and we’ve got an eagle eye on that.“That’s the position at the moment, and that’s where we want it to stay.“It’s more likely we’ll be playing games there in early 2027 than the end of’26, but we want to get in for training purposes.
The Crows wanted the playing surface to be sown in February.“We’re monitoring very closely every aspect of the development very closely,” MrOlsen said. Adelaide’s men’s, women’s, and SANFL teams will train at Thebarton, which will be the club’s home ground for AFLW matches. The redevelopment includes the construction of a function centre, cafe, members’ lounge and interactive museum showcasing the club’s history.A delaide planned for the project to be $85m, but costs blew out during the 18-month delays during the consultation process. The Crows, who had been based at West Lakes since their inception in1991, began exploring a move to a new training base in 2013. They tried to shift to Adelaide Aquatic Centre and Brompton beforesettling on Thebarton in August 2022. The Crows looked at what other AFL clubs, such as Brisbane and WestCoast, did with their new headquarters as they planned theirredevelopment. Adelaide has used its new headquarters as a majorrecruiting tool, including to help lure Alex Neal-Bullen from Melbourneand GWS duo James Peatling and Isaac Cumming last off-season. Thebarton was previously the home ground of SANFL club West Torrensand the Adelaide Footy League.
