It's going to be the home ground of our AFLW team, there will be games there.

Sorry forgot that the AFLW crowds will be the equivalent of SANFL crowds.

Remember when we entered the SANFL when we said we would have 4k Crows supporters at our games against an SANFL club? Didn’t happen.

You don’t need a full time bar facility. Not worth it.

Away games are always popular at Alberton, and of course SANFL games and now AFLW games.

You guys have pokies across two venues to prop up the peaks and troughs.

A model we can't replicate.

A simple set up for away AFL and home SANFL/AFLW games with Food Truck and temporary Licensed pop up bar could be achievable though.

Agree but food trucks wouldn’t work for AFL away games.
Probably wouldn’t be worth setting up a bar just for that.

Could we make an arrangement with the pre-existing local pubs?

F..... F.....S!!!!!!!

What do we want....a couple of ovals, a pool, a weights room blah blah....

What do our fans want.... a place to have a beer, watch a couple of replays, eat a schniddy casual bistro style.

AFC...* The fans, we've only got $80m. They can have coffee and cucumber sandwiches without the crusts. We need to live up to our reputation.

Joke.

....

Good training base but cmon no bar and bistro for members, classic Adelaide half a job, i been waiting 30 odd years for a place for crows members and supporters to go thru the week and weekends to enjoy a beer and meal, big screen footy. Disappointed but hardly surprised 👎

They also complained about the colour of the bins.
I love how they complained about what was around the stadium (Crows Tavern, our training facilities) yet didn't see the irony in that the interior (Seats) were in their colours......

The whole Clubroom thing is nothing more than a nice thought for those that associate a local footy Club environment with an AFL club which is just not the current model.

For there to be an osite pub/club it would need to be financially viable with a decent business plan to make money. I can't see people flocking to Thebarton for dinner on a regular basis, especially those that don't live within a 5km radius.

I live 25-30 minutes away and would realistically maybe visit once a year!

Cafe is the most logical option to attract the mums and dads taking their kids to the playground and or the die hard supporters who want to watch the lads train.

As long as they can cater for some booze at AFLW and SANFL games then that is all that is required.

Couple of beer vans selling cold cans will do on bigger events! Cafe should do some form of booze if you want to wash down your cake or croissant.

If anyone has been to the pub across the road, it's a pub that's primed for a redevelopment, something being associated with the pub across the road could facilitate
Yeh, nah. You want something like at the bays. A bistro style right on the oval up high with glass so you can watch the boys train during the week. AFLW/SANAfL match days for bookings etc.

The West Thebby is something I guess.

Im not sure setting up a Bistro is worth it tbh.

Like, I love having a parmi + beer before the footy.

But besdes matchdays, how much use will it get?

And even then, will it get much use? Earlier this year for Adelaide vs Brisbane at Nourlunga, I booked in advance to have a table at the bistro down there. Was maybe half a dozen tables used, most of it was empty.

And what will we get? 4.5 AFLw games (when we host the showdown it'd probably be at AO)?
SANFL probably wont give us home games so that's a mute point
AFL ressies? How many would turn up? Arguably less than now as you'd have a smaller turnout from Sydney or Collingwood supporters than North Adelaide or Port Adelaide supporters.

Not enough matches to justify it (staff side of things.)........................................Having said that, Norwood's Wolf Blass center, that has its chefs/bar staff ran by the Robin Hood Hotel, QANTAS' lounge is Singapore is staffed by Sofitel staff. So I guess it's easy to get around that problem.

But would it be viable outside of matchday? Probably not. I for one aren't going to go across town to Thebby when I can just walk to the Alma or Republic etc.

Wack a few machines in there and bingo self sustaining.
Who gives a toss what the wowsers think. That area has been calling out for a classy Gaming room for years.

Considering the entrenchment of gambling within the AFL experience, why are we so adverse to Pokies?
