From what I can gather - when the system was reset - some default functionality reappeared like rep and visible # of posts for users.

These have now been switched off

When I logged back in this morning, I thought it was 2004 all over again

What is the benefit to getting a members subscription, that’s was the only real feature of the package that made it worth wide.

C98... imagine you have Gold membership and I have Bronze/Silver. You have paid for extras ie how many lines on your sig?

Gold = 5 lines

Silver = 1 line

How big is your avatar?

Gold = 100 x 100

Silver = 35 x 35

IMO the major popsitive in paying $10 for an annual subscription is not getting the "BigFooty is busy" message.

btw that's 2.7 cents per day or a half a cent a post for an average poster

Yeah, that is the biggest plus for me too.

$10 pa isn't much in terms of our footy spending.

But you are missing the point. Surely that message is just 'created' to try and get people to sign up and pay the $10 US.

Basically the $10 is more of a donation than anything else...regardless of what membership includes.

I don't like donating my money to already fruitful websites.

No I get your point - but whether it's created or real......the end result is still denial of access either contrived or busy.

In the threat “is Mark Williams a nutter” the originator of the threat has “yellow card” under his name, is that just a stupid comment like I have “Lleyton who” or is it some sort of official warning?

Yes it is part of the new infraction system where points are awarded similar to demerit points on a licence.

"Yellow Card" signifies that another infraction will more than likely see some BigFooty privileges removed or a temporary or permanent holiday from the site.

Good to see this finally happening. Its all well and good to give an opinion but when the person becomes abusive it should not be tolerated.

I still seem to get that from time to time... but I never actually paid for my account I guess, so I'm not complaining.

No idea if an idea like this is already in place or has been tossed around, but they should have a list of the posters who have had the most threads deleted from the main board over the last few months or something, and then ban the top 5 from the list from making new threads until they fall off the list.
I know you already ban people from posting on the main board if they troll too much, but I just figured this system might work pretty well too.

I guess it's one of those issues like do the crime - do the time - then move on.

Under the new system if people persist in earning infraction points - privileges are suspended like being able to start new threads - being able to PM - then being able to post at all. Of course the current arrangements of being banned or suspended from individual boards still applies.
