Nothing predictable about those number allocations.

I wonder why Dattoli changed. I'm also curious about Curnow at #35 - I imagine he would have been given his preference. I see the club notes that it was the number his brother wore - but the number he himself wore (#10) was also available. However, I can understand the desire to start with a clean slate too.

I'm glad Green stayed put at #45.

Carlton FC produced this 6 years ago about the Curnow's tracking their family history. A good watch. Gives you a good insight into probably why Charlie chose No 35 & the Sydney Swans (a team that had to be close to a surf coast). During the above clip, the family learns that the Curnows also left Cornwall, UK for Cuba, not just the goldfields in Australia. Ed says, "Cuba will be our next trip". Charlie responds, "Do they have waves there?" :) Interestingly, the Curnows live on the surf coast in Victoria not knowing that Cornwall, UK is also known for its surf. If the Swans players knew Charlie's family background, easy to nickname him 'Duke' (Duke of Cornwall & Duke Kahanamoku (famous Hawaiian Surfer).

Thanks for that. I'll check it out when I get a chance.

Bicey and Cootee are locker buddies, which is nice (and probably deliberate - I note Leon Cameron's comments that the club is very considered and intentional in the jumper number allocations).
