I have an NSW state jumper in that colour.
hopefully whatever jumper they wear on saturday night looks good, because god knows they are going to cop the mother of all floggings
Won't happen. They'll use the same design they put on the shelves in 2010 (a "heritage", with no sponsors - which in retrospect was probably a trial for this), which uses the stock standard miniwings.Thank you cam
Now let's just hope Puma get the wings right...
(/me gets on hobby horse)
There's a reason why they're in a group with GC: to increase the odds of one of the new sides making it to the next round. Or, more likely, to increase the odds of just GC making in through to the next round.
Surprised they're not in a group with one of the bottom four.
Why should every team have to change there jerseys for Essendon..The Bombers should just design a clash that is WHITE just like every other team in the leauge. Really getting annyoed with essendon haha
To add to that, to increase the odds of GC or GWS making it through, they were grouped with Sydney because of Sydney's terrible NAB Cup record, mainly due to playing a team of rookies every year.
But you're all for forcing clubs to produce jumpers when you feel like they should. That's what you said above.I maintain that a team can wear whatever GUERNSEY it likes at home, and the away team has to avoid the clash.
So if North wants to wear a mainly white (with royal blue stripes) top at home, a team like Geelong needs to wear something mainly not white (or royal blue) - eg mainly navy blue in the Cats' case.
SHORTS should be picked to help distinguish the teams.
So, in the above example, it would be silly for North to wear blue shorts and Geelong to wear white when their guernseys are white and blue respectively.
Geelong's been ok with this lately; last year in a home match against Port they wore white shorts and Port wore black.
So teams shouldn't be forced to wear a dark home top, especially if their home top is currently light. Their opposition should wear a dark home top and non-clashing shorts (maybe coloured!) to make sure there's no dark/light clash.
But you're all for forcing clubs to produce jumpers when you feel like they should. That's what you said above.
Essendon is listed as the Home team in both games, so why should they produce a clash jumper for this weekend?
The actual AFL law is that clubs provide Dark and Light uniforms.
So when Geelong, North, Hawthorn & West Coast wear Dark shorts with their Home jumpers, they are ignoring the law based on some claim to history that Home teams wear Dark shorts. Which was bizarre when South wore Black shorts at Lake Oval playing StKilda from the other side of Lake Oval in Red, White & Black.
Like when they're listed as the Away team in a game where they play a team they are listed as clashing with.
Do you have this list?

I have the original lists from the AFL when they came out in 07.West Coast is borderline. The front is 35 - 65 dark to light, the back however is more like 70 - 30 dark to light.
So being the home team, wearing dark shorts and socks is their choice.
North, Geelong and Hawthorn have more like 75-25 dark to light so should have to wear light shorts.
I have the original lists from the AFL when they came out in 07.
And West Coast were listed with their Light uniform being the Home jumper, and the Dark uniform being the Away, Blue with Gold wings, jumper.
Maybe it's a deal they did with the club so they didn't have to change jumpers, but the information I had came straight from the AFL.
Same with North, their Argentina jumper is actually their Dark jumper.
Which is why there's changes made to it this year.
Initially Hawthorn's Clash jumper was going to have a White back, but they had to make it mostly Brown to fit as a mostly Dark jumper, so that too is their Dark uniform.
It's a very poorly worded document, and will probably get changed next time the marketing deal gets done, but that's the way they dscribe things.
The "home" team allocation didn't seem to dictate jumper descisions in the WCE/FD/H game - on every occasion the home team did not wear their preffered home strip, and each clash was catered for individually.
