Their home jumper has no patterns or gradients, it's basically a red Carlton jumper with side-panels. How much more traditional can you get? Regardless of the logo.

Just lacks imagination. Side panels and a boring logo? Yawn.
Freo and port are so popular because they actually look like "footy jumpers".
Simple designs with stripes, sashes, chevrons, yokes, Tri panel etc work the best.

My question though was "how much more traditional can you get" when someone said they needed a traditional-looking jumper.

On a scale of "cartoon animals, diamonds, and gradient colours" to "block colours with a monogram", they're pretty much completely at the "block colours" end of the spectrum though.
