I'm not sure when we can get traded, but as soon as we can, I am leaving the Mariners to join the Newbies.

Rentals can't be traded, they go into the draft at season's end.

I'd doubt very few will actually get trades, because what has Banga got to trade for you?

And finally, the league will be protecting the five pre-existing teams ahead of this new team, so don't expect anything of the sort to be an easy feat.

As some newbies have already got teams in the RFFL and can't be traded until next season, no. But if the newbies who sign up now and don't have a team will go straight into the newbies lineup.

Yeah, it goes for the newbies who already have a team in the RFFL, play for your RFFL team this season and I'll see what can be done next season to get you to the club. Good mentality

As Tarks has mentioned, you have to play the season out with your RFFL club, then when Draft/Trade comes for next season, I can see what can be done.

By the way, this new side has no affiliation whatsoever with the newbies or Bigfooty in any form. The fact that half the squad will be made up of newbs is inconsequential.

The fact of the matter is, in the RFFL you'll be playing under the banner of the Coastal Cougars, and the new team will have a nucleus of, but are not exclusive to, this newbies side.

Great job so far guys, us newbs are pulling together. But as Tarks says, it isn't exclusive to the newbies...do not be afraid to ask a few other posters to join who was not a part of the newbies, or even part of this comp. Don't forget, we can't leave it all up to Errol(who is doing a great job so far) all of us certainly need to help in getting this team together. Love your work guys.

Just a thought - If the Cougars struggle to get enough players, why don't the RFFL try an AFL like thing. Let the Cougars pick up some uncontracted players (rentals) and the club gets re-imbersed (spelling?) in the draft?

No.

The Cougars fail to get the players, they cease to exist.

It's as simple as that.

Stop looking for loopholes, because there aren't any.

I suggest people to leave a thread in their team boards, I left one on the hawthorn board and gained a few members from that. We cant rest on our laurels and look ahead at stuff like our gurnsey, we need to get the players to form the team. Send some pms out also to members you know would be interested
