There is a couple of candidates, NOT Maxwell NOR pea heart Fraser.
H.Shaw or the Matrix Pendlebury.
I have time for both , but Heater is a leader in every respect of the game,
he has the footy smarts, has the cheek,and above all loves to goad the opposition with lip service.

I really do think that it will depend on whether Burns finishes at the end of this year or next. Hopefully he goes on for one more season so Heater gets that little bit more experience to make him perfect for the role.

heath and swan dont want to be in the leadership group. and didak is worst possible option for a leadership possy i've ever heard he is as nathan buckley once put it "the rat of the collingwood football club"(he said not as an insult but to imply his a trouble maker).

Tony Shaw is a w***er, and I'm sure he would love to see Heath leave. But yes I hope he doesn't go anywhere.

Watching Heath in the backline, you can see he is already a leader. I hope he does become the captain of the CFC. He is the man for the job.

Fair enough with Swanny, but everyone loves him

Didak has now changed, for the better. Leadership would make him one of the greats of the CFC.

IMO if Fraser, Lockyer, Swan, Didak or Maxwell were any chance to become captain they would have been named captain for this season. I reckon that the decision to go with Burns means that they have a younger canditate in mind and want to give them another year to mature.

Would have to be Josh "hard as nails " Fraser he just oozes leadership with is fearless and selfeless acts of courage week in week out !!! Is there an AFL player with less presence than Josh Fraser ??? What a worthy leader he is, who wouldn't want to follow Josh into battle evry week.......

Not sure there was any problem with Lnaces leadership it is just his body was shot and he was leading an belwo average side. What is Josh Frasers excuse for his recnt insipid and mediocre form. Peter Bell outmarked in the goal square in Rd 1 and things have got progressively worse from there. He is soft as butter !!! Not sure trading Pick 14 for C Wood to play in your ressies is such a good move either....
