Heard he’s been offered 2 weeks.
There were plenty at the game and everyone had a different opinion - It was a big hit and contact was made with the head but it wasnt a dog shot. In the AFL it would be 3 or 4 simply because of the injury involved.
Why would the NFL remove the footage? Has that been done before?

Yeah they’ve done it on occasions. Just save themselves a media storm potetially.

The NFNL review all cards and can send to tribunal. 2 weeks is the max that can be offered by umpires.
They have the option to go straight to tribunal? The league removing footage of this incident and jai burns incident is a farce. Both should have been on the sidelines much more than the 2 week “set penalty”

Its really poor behaviour by the NFNL. The entire tribunal system needs an overhaul. It should be run off the AFL system... High, Careless, Serve impact... Not whatever some old fart thinks

Agreed, especially debuting three U19s made them very young and inexperienced but I am sure many at Eltham would be happy with the margin considering its probably the lowest one against the Tigers this year and in particularly at around halfway through the third quarter the scores where level.
Great effort by Panthers to get within 5 goals of the Bergs - Interesting points profile for the game with Eltham 38/46 and Bergs 33/46
Panthers young players help their points but the tigers doing just as well with plenty of room - These 2 are the standouts in DIV1 for points

Leagues cut the video out.

From what I have been 'told' the NFNL did NOT cut the footage, the operator did as there was 30 minutes of dead time due to waiting for ambulance and when they cut it they went 10 seconds too far (apparently you see from about 10 seconds before bump and next thing is bloke taking free kick so it sorta makes sense). Take that as you will it's what I have been reliably informed.

Also seen photos of the Boro lads tongue, wow, that's messed up, will be having surgery and a painful annoying recovery the poor lad.

From what I was told Mont dude offered 2 despite him adamant it was a fair bump (but as we know, someone injured and concussed its gunna be a tough fight if he appeals)

and I personally think that's half the problem, offering players set penalties of 1-2 weeks post game without reviewing footage of the incident and purely going on gut instinct during the game.

Club then challenge a report and the tribunal throws it out backing the umpires version of events, the NFNL have to be seen to backing their own (umpires).

From what I've seen, I'd say 99% of the challenges get thrown out and player cops another week.

AFL review footage before handing penalties down.. NFNL don't.

I think this part of the system needs an overhaul.

The NFNL review every incident given by umpires and can escalate to tribunal if deemed 2 weeks isn’t enough. Just because he took “2 weeks” doesn’t mean he won’t be fronting the tribunal this week.

It wasn’t left out by accident. It’s not hard to accurately cut footage!

Yes the photo is doing the rounds. Was he wearing a mouth guard I wonder

No way he had a mouth guard in … if he did, there is a lawsuit coming.

My mail is if Bundoora stoop to a new low and pull their seconds out they will be some sort of chance as Heidelberg will play a composite team, heard it here.

Last few years they have struggled with 2s numbers and had forfeits but looking online they have had full teams each week despite getting a belting, I think a lot of the work they have tried to do is ensure there is numbers which they seem to have, doubt they will forfeit this year.

Off to the tribunal now…so will see what the NFNL determine….you can only imagine the injury will be pivotal, which is interesting if player didn’t have a mouth guard. The “accidental” cutting of the incident may mysteriously reappear post tribunal. I am thinking we are going to see an extended holiday from the 2 offered originally to 4 to 6.

Did he not accept the 2 and is fighting? Would seem an odd decision unless he is very confident in the vision that may or not appear. Very hard to beat the offer, we have seen this over past few years.
