Nic Reiwoldt?

haha - imagine Riewoldt in purple, reuniting with RTB for one last shot at a premiership. Pav at FF, Riewoldt at CHF, Mayne and Ballas on the flanks, Walters and Sandi/Clarke in the pockets...

*salivation...

OTC were just discussing that reiwoldt maybe on the move.

He's a FA.What would people thoughts be if freo decided to go after him?

I mentioned him earlier in the year as someone we should look to get, if available. Hes pretty much St Kilda's Pavlich but it doesnt hurt to ask them what they would take. Would be good for a couple more seasons. I think he is a contracted player though.

OK I'll be the first to say it, I'm imagining him reuniting with Zac Dawson more

*shudder....

But I think Dr Pepper is right, he is not a FA

Nick at chf & Pav at ff. We'd be throwing al the eggs into the premiership 14-15 basket but we should do this. He had a sensational year in an average team.

Way too many posts before Dawson was mentioned :P

Anyway, I read somewhere (sorry I can't remember where now!) that St Kilda were quick to dismiss those rumours.

I think Brian Lake's success will change the way a lot of guys think. He had a long and mostly successful career at WB - 3 PFs + multiple finals series... just never took home the choccies.

Hawks have a hole in their list / structure - he moves on a shortish contract and it's a win-win-win.

Hawks get their gorilla backman; Lake gets a premiership; WB get draft picks so they can begin the rebuild (never going to get to the top while Lake is still around).

Imagine Riewoldt sitting back - he's given his all to StK over the journey. He's 30 years old, undeniable champion, Saints are on the rebuild and will not have any success while he's still playing; Freo need another quality tall forward.

It could be another win-win-win.

Freo get their KPF; Riewoldt gets another shot at a premiership; Saints get a compo pick, probably end of first round.

I reckon do it Bondy. ;) :rainbow:

Worth trading for. A lot depends on Nick though, the Saints clearly dont want to trade him but he wont be around when the Saints complete their rebuild.

Michie and our first pick (16) for Riewoldt and their third (40ish). Whaddya say Bondy? Pull the trigger man!!

except the saints have stated categorically that he won't be traded so that does chuck a bit of a spanner in the works...

that's a pretty fair deal, considering where both clubs are at.
forward line =
Fyfe, Riewoldt, Mayne
Ballas, Pav, Clarke/Sandi
Walters in middle or on wing.
Much like hawthorn forward line but with Fyfe as a small, on a small will chop in air - on tall slaughter on d ground, Ballas running wild crumbing the big fellows.

Walters + D.Pearce (Small Forward) also swapping through forward line,
and Barlow + L. Neale swapping forward with Fyfe.
Prefer Mundy playing back when resting - same with Hillly. Looked good earlier this year.

Lake was traded for pick 21 and 40 in exchange for pick 28. A 7 pick down grade and pick 40.

Riewoldt is better and 1-2 years younger. I think a pick in the late 20s would do the trick.

Pavlich & Riewoldt finishes as Premiership players would be the ultimate fairytale ending. Come on 007 pull the trigger.

It'd be like a movie. Riewoldt coming to help his former coach have one last crack at a premiership. They reunite to achieve greatness. Riewoldt & Pav on the same team, helping each other and Ross get there premiership they so desperately deserve. Would jizz my pants, but not even the slightest chance of happening. We should inquire about him though, can't hurt.
