Similar to Darcy Moores final u18 year, wonder if its club led to try like Darcy have him slip.

Moore was universally rated a top 3 to 5 prospect at the start of his u18 year but slipped to 8 after injury and lack of exposure.
Is Nick more rated this year than Darcy was?

I would think so, Peter was a genuine star and Darcy looks as good but Daics Snr was a generational talent and never got his full measure of recognition because of the stripes and Nick looks as good - if not better than Snr was when he first started.

Moore didnt slip to 8. He was bid on by the dogs at 4 i think it was and then we matched it with our next available pick. So he was essentially taken at pick 4 bu the dogs

From what i can remember a definitive yes.

Most recruiters have Nick as being special.
Rendell said top 3 of all time that he has seen.

Moore was also said to be something Special since he played U-16 Championships

I don’t remember Moore being injured in his draft year? He had hip issues prior to it, but my memory had him playing defence most of the year at Oakleigh, forward and through the ruck at the champs, and starring forward in finals for Oakleigh…

I was wondering peoples exceptions are on Nick Daicos?
22 games?
Rising star?
Brownlow and Norm.

In all seriousness, I doubt he'll get to 22 games (not many first year players do). Rising Star could be possible, there should be opportunities for him to get games. But I'm forcing myself to not put too many expectations upon him.

I agree,
Like to see him progress but the next few years will be working with a new coach and slotting into the system.
No doubt there will be ups and downs.

Petty sure he also did a hammy that year and the year before missed a chunk too but my memory could be rusty.

He missed the year before, that was from surgery. I don’t remember any injury in his draft year. It was a shock when he ripped his hamstring in the VFL because he hadn’t had any soft tissue issues before that iirc.

I can only say I hope this is true.
Did he say who the other two were?

Peter could snag a goal from anywhere. Remains to be seen with Nick. In his jun

They are very similar in most other aspects.

No. He just said he's as the best junior as he has ever seen. I know other recruiters feel the same with Nick.

Was bid on at pick 6. If it was 4 we would have had to have used pick 5, which we ended up using on De Goey.
We didn’t have pick 5 at that point. Back in 2014 bidding was done pre-trade period. But you’re right, the dogs bid at pick 6 but then traded that pick afterwards in the deal for Boyd.

Yep father son bidding was pre trade and free agency.

Dogs bid with pick 5, we just then had to match with our next pick...happened to be pick 8.

Then in free agency Frawley left Melbourne to Hawks, and the Dees were given 1st round pick compensation (Pick 3).

That caused all the other picks to shuffle back, and Moore came to us with pick 9.

No, trust me when I say that would not happen.
