Hardly bullshit but I'd have thought any sort of preconceived expectations ridiculous. I went into this season thinking McInnes would be the pick of our off-season additions and was looking forward to seeing him at senior level. How'd that work out for us?

I have no issue with poor finishes due to genuine injuries or skill but I have massive issues with cheating the supporters and the competition by cheating for a high pick.

We don’t traditionally ‘tank’. Too proud to take home the wooden spoon. That’s more a Carlton thing. If we finish low next year it will be entirely unintentional.

This was just a year from hell. We've actually got a decent senior group. I'm expecting us to be midtable.

I think the only way that happens is if we see development from the youth, little to no injuries (particularly Moore) and very little degradation in form from the mature aged players like Pendles. Also need Adams to find his 2020 form and Grundy to get back to his best. If that all comes together we could possibly be sitting mid table, I think. Big if though.
Let’s see what changes our new coach brings.

Josh is clearly nursing a sore and recovering finger in terms of his touch. WOn't be helping his tackling either.
But I take your point. Pretty amazing when a yet to be drafted player is already superseding, in media consciousness terms, a brother who's been on the list for 4-5 seasons (and was in the best players under 22 squad)

Filling the 22 is a challenge, particularly if we get injuries but I think we'll add a couple of recruits in their early 20s, plus natural improvement in our kids:

Grundy, Moore, JDG, Howe, Crisp, Adams, Elliott, Mihocek, Maynard. With Pendles, Sidey, WHE, Quaynor and Roughy is a solid core group.
