...and as it is you've had less points in total from a guy you plan on trading away later anyway...

...But it's a DS thread...

...and I sure as hell aren't picking on you. :D

I'm getting confused. Possibly because I'm already thinking about work tomorrow. :o

I don't intend to trade Bowden if he comes back. I assumed he'd only be out for a week.. then it became two.. then three..

Trades are precious. I prefer not to trade out guns. Wallace hinted on before the game that Bowden might be back this week.

Meh.

So yeh.

DS.

Hrmz.

Yeh.

(I'm not making this thread a pet project of mine I promise!)...

...but some people do make me laugh.

You want him to av. 120?...he'll have to av. 127.5 ppg from here in to do it.

Not a chance in the world.

Look, you're right...100-110 is bloody good...and you're in the same boat as me, we're 'stuck' with him...

...but a) It's frustrating looking at the guys I coul have picked for that price...
...and b) I've already said. :D

hey man, i said 20ppg from here - that means 120ppg, but thanks for your calcs anyway! ;)

yes i know what was available for the price. i had lenny until about a day from the cut-off when i changed my mind and brought dal in. Still, i've only used 2 trades and am in 143rd place in the comp - despite Dal's apparently shocking start to the season...

when you have 30 players to choose from out of hundreds, it's virtually impossible to make the perfect choice for every position. if the worst choice i've made is to bring in a bloke who plays badly but still averages 100ppg, then i haven't made too many bad ones. you can't always make the perfect decision, so i'm happy enough for now.

i know where you're coming from, and i'd prefer it if he were averaging better as well, but i'm not stressing about him either.

:thumbsu: Nice work.

(Sorry, just felt like being a bit argumentative last night! :D)

Blind luck of course :)

I've just been fighting the urge to go off topic and complain other guys - like Jonathan Brown - who i'd rather bag right now. Brown is fighting N Thompson for the title of worst starting forward for me... At least Thompson only cost me ~$250k though... ;)

Gee if i was in 143rd spot and had only used 2 trades i wouldnt have anything to stress out over either.Looks like youve set yourself up for a good year.I bet you didnt have any of the big gun forwards in your side to start off with

Sadly I did mate! I managed to avoid Brad Johnson, thank god, but I had Pav, Riewoldt, Chappy, and Jono Brown from the start. JB has been disappointing so far but I'm hopeful he'll turn it around.

I know a few people on here selected Dal Santo to start the season.

He has been an elite SC'er for a few years now.

However he seems to be struggling with hard tags.

Scored 70 yesterday and will continue to drop.

I had him pencilled in as an upgrade this week. I could wait a couple more weeks for him to really bottom out.

What are people's thoughts?

He scored 70 vs Port Adelaide from 10 disposals. That says it all. He was the first player I picked this year and I wont be getting rid of him. Not to many players beat Kane Cornes and Cameron Ling. I think poeple are way to harsh on him.

Get Chappy instead

Chapman is injury prone - will always miss games because of a hammie

DAL never gets injured.

He is going to break out in the next few weeks, especially when he playes at the Dome.

He is guarenteed to get 100 this week. I reckon he smash it and get 130+

I'm getting on board in a week or 2...

Dal = SC God. it's a rule of mine to have him at the start of every year in supercoach.

My rule was he is a God..but hope he has 2-3 bad weeks..wait for everyone to doubt him and his price to drop then pounce on him. Did pretty much the same thing last year

Problem being there is currently no such thing as a 26 possession Dal Santo game, so no good extrapolating present scores.

..couldn't resist bringing this back up lol. Dals last 5 games possession count:

R11:29
R10:29
R9:20
E8:28
R7:27

He hasn't exactly been scoring 150's like Ablett but has still been good. Just wanted to point out he can get lots of the ball and is still in the SC elite category.

Those who wrote Dal off earlier in the season no doubt got rid of Gilbee a few weeks ago too.

Those kinds of trades put you behind the pack.

Those exact stats are a worry for me, and I have him. Dal Santo is someone I associate with getting 90 from a quiet game with 12 touches, not barely scraping 100 with 29.

I traded Dal in for N Jones 4 weeks back.

145 87 129 118 in fact

Versus

89 68 45 109

Yep happy with that and Dal has shown signs if his best.

Watch for a big 2nd half of the year.
I traded him in the exact same time as you and made him captain for his first game 290 as captain. I traded him for west who hasn't played since

Sometimes more stats work against a player as they evidently get more clangers.

I wouldn't worry about it, Dal is back (except maybe this week though).
