He is a 24 year old player meant to be hitting the peak of his career, and has been relatively unaffected by injury. And every single year his average goes down, down, down. 17 disposals for 45 on the weekend, just when I thought he couldn't get lazier and more indisciplined.

2005 - 123.9
2006 - 117.2
2007 - 115.8
2008 - 104.5
2009 - ?

You've got one of the greatest competitors in AFL history in your team in Robert Harvey. Please ask him for a lesson on how to work hard and/or contest the football.

Dal is one of my favourite players because of his silky skills, but I am concernced that he has changed his gamestyle this year and is no longer putting up those big scores from not so many disposals. I want old Dal back :(. Without the 5 frees yesterday his score was 75, so that's decent I guess.

Train wreck. Get off.

If he is indeed dropped which looks certain now I expect him to come back breathing fire.

I know that's a good general rule, but wouldn't that require him to work hard or contest the football? ;) Just a warning but it hasn't really happened for Joel Bowden either.

Naaahhh.

Next year I think I'll trade in Sam Lane.:thumbsu::D:thumbsu:

Surely his missus will pick up a few more points than he is.

If Dal Santo leaves the Saints due to not getting along with Lyon I wonder if he will choose to go to Carlton to keep Sam Lane happy? :p

Not a bad idea except the only thing we dont need is another bloody midfielder. Maybe using him as a rebounding defender, vertically challenged CHF or possibly a non-jumping ruck?

Wonder if he would come over for 'love' so we can get him for a discounted price:p Surely most of our salary cap is direct debited into Mr Judds offshore trading account:D

Speaking as SC not a supporter im disapointed to have to play cotchin on the ground this week but!
I think this might work out ok, clearly not putting the scores on the board that we as SC's expect from him. I expect him to come back pretty quickly and to start to put the big numbers on the board again.

He was scoring fine apart from round 12! Ross Lyon is just a brute who doesn't appreciate Dal's purely wonderful skills and instead wants players who will go and get their head smashed in a contest. He better be back next week, could have scored more than Allen, Eddy and Armitage combined this week!

I continue to be proven wrong. He has actually gotten worse. Average has now dropped from 104.5 to 103.3 and will no doubt plummet further after tonight's miserable performance. Clearly it's too much to ask him to actually win a contested possession, but he has now forgotten how to dispose the ball completely and is giving away even more free kicks.

good last quarter. Gotta wonder why he couldn't have put in a decent 4 quarter effort.

Safe to say he has not delivered on his start of season price tag.

I went to the game tonight with a few mates and i watch Dal.. I am not joking this bloke is just so lazy.. Never wants to pick up anyone, looks like he is just flouting around looking for the cheap handball around the back I have been fooled thinking he was any good :thumbsd:

he was terrible last night! his defensive game is woeful!
uncharacteristicly his disposal was also poor last night (as was most of the saints tho)

He has been an essential for years in this stupid game...and even when he's averaging ONLY 104 u wanna put the boot in ?

When he's killing it we just expect it...when he has one like last night we put the boot in.

yeah like 104 average is bad

Despite what Lyon wants to turn him into he's no ball ferret...needs to be played to his strengths just off the ball where his disposal is a killer. Telling him to mind someone is a joke...u lose your weapon and double up the stupidity by playing to his weakness.

Dons fan as a kid and Sheedy tried hard to get him there. Might be thinking about it now coz he would be sensational with their gameplan.

If anyone should be whining it;d be me...i always take Goodes and Dal Santo and pay up for them if i have to. Suffering from both in recent weeks but u cannot fault the decision to buy either. If anything with a 104 average Dal Santo was only overpriced marginally anyway at the start. Its all about a full season's value and it ebbs and flows.

Having to pay up a fraction at the start is a reflection of previous worth and its a decision u take to save trades...u dont pay up for risky picks ..you pay up for KNOWN GUNS that have performed for u consistently.

I;m the last one that;ll whinge about Dal Santo..the bloke has helped me with some great results and been consistent scoring for years. If his average is ONLY 104 (pfft only ) this season i'll take it.

How about we all put the boot into Judd as well.

Nuff whinging...take the ups and downs. If u bought him like me u made a logical and correct decision and u weather the form. Just as likely to win u your next final with a 150.

Too much whinging about guns...fickle and boring stuff.

Its that time of the year when everyone just expects their 600K guns to hand them 150's EVERY week.
