With Ross Lyon as the Saints new coach a done deal, a new trade is almost certain to occur.

Nick Davis will be at St Kilda next year, I am very good friends with a Sydney player and know for a fact that Ross Lyon and Davis were very close. Despite the story that it was John Longmire who got Davis back in the senior side, it was defintely Ross Lyon who convinced Paul Roos to play him again. In fact all the communication between the coaches and Davis in the second half of the year was through Ross Lyon.

Davis has already spoken to Ross Lyon about following him if he got the job and now it is done Lyon will have the Saints working on a deal immediately.

Just guessing but I imagine Milne could be involved, but one thing is certain Nick Davis will follow Lyon and Sydney will not be disappointed to see the back of him

This could be the deal, that Andy Maher mentioned on SEN

Re: Nick Davis to St Kilda - You heard it hear first

Well, he's a matchwinner at least...If he can sort out his off-field issues, he could be a real find, and is a much more complete player than Milne, for example.

Re: Nick Davis to St Kilda - You heard it hear first

If Davis comes back, it better be to Collingwood. The only reason he left is because he wanted to go back home because of home sickness. Now this. I can't believe it, whether it seems right or not considering the problems he had this year.

Dont ya just love seeing attention seekers using rarely used names on Bigfooty just to start a thread ?

No spine for a contest.....therefore absolute garbage.

"you heard it here first"...geeeezus some ppl must be desperate.

Re: Nick Davis to St Kilda - You heard it hear first

Not denying your post, Browsie, but the way Maher spoke, it would want to be someone different to Nick Davis. With all due respect to Nick, he's not a bigger name than Spider or Tarrant (the players Maher referred to).

There is some merit to this. However what will St Kilda be giving,

Perhaps on trading Everitt, that is if players can be on-traded??

Re: Nick Davis to St Kilda - You heard it hear first

Can't see him coming back to Melbourne myself. But not a bad link between Lyon and said player. Would love to see Davis's reception against the Pies if he was wearing the Saints jumper. Priceless. Joffa would go crazy!!!!!!!!

Re: Nick Davis to St Kilda - You heard it hear first

Paul Roos would want nothing to do with Milne, he is the Anti-Swan.

Re: Nick Davis to St Kilda - You heard it hear first

Hayes for Davis.

Davis follows Lyon. Hayes returns home. About the same age, about the same skill. like for like.

Forget Everitt. I couldnt care who gets him Saints or Sydney.

What about

Spider -> Sydney
Davis -> St Kilda
Thornton -> Hawthorn
Milne -> Carlton :thumbsu:

Everyone's a winner. :)

Bugger that JD. i would keep Milne any day over the deadwood that we have on our list. Alan Murray - now he is someone that we can afford to trade not a player who averages 2 goals per game.

I only post when I have something substantial, do you give more weight to people who come up with a new rumour everyday (i.e. bee Dee)?

Feel free to bookmark this thread and reply on Friday at 2pm

re Milne as i said I was only guessing about that since he seems to be available, I don't know what St Kilda will offer but Nick Davis will at the Saints next year

Are you delusional there? Hayes is St. Kilda's number one midfielder, without a doubt, and is one of the best in the league. He is consistently up there in all the key stats such as disposals, clearances, tackles and is one of the most reliable kicks in the game. He is invaluable in the clinches, and is one of our few untradeable players. Davis is just a forward who can win a game off his own boot every once in a while . Hayes will get you 30 touches and 10 tackles a game.

Hayes is not one of the best in the league. I doubt he'd even get a guernsey in the WC midfield. He's too slow. He's good, but not best.

Davis wins FINALS off his own boot. Something the Saints would really need. To win finals.

Keep in mind, the Kangaroos game was the one where he broke his leg. Where are Davis' stats for the same period? I can assure you that he would definitely get a game in the Eagles midfield. Ahead of Fletcher, Braun and the young guys like Nicoski and Rosa.

LOL WDF

Hayes > Davis by an absolute mile. He was in brownlow form before he done his knee

Having said that A foward line consisting of Gehrig, Riewoldt and Nick Davis mmmmm not bad

Hayes...Brownlow? Put it back in your pants.

His knee devalues him a bit too.

win-win. Sydney need midfield improvement. Saints need a forward line that can stand up in finals.
