Nick Stevens

Dew was good today, and has been in most of our finals. He's safe. Nick Stevens....dunno. If he stays, this might be the fire in the belly to make lift that necessary notch. Or maybe not. Definitely better to wait a week or two to think about it.

The fire in the belly should have been blazing once Josh went down.

But it ran out of coal all to easily. Thankfully I've resigned myself to losing him, makes the no-show and the report easier to handle.

The funny thing is that on the radio they said he was perhaps our best player. Idiots!

Tall defenders and a high pick. Prestigiacomo would go alright, gave Tredders an absolute bath today.
Collingwood's midfield gave Tredrea a bath. If it was a simple as Tredrea losing one on one contests when the ball is flying to him, then sure, but the ball was hardly even in his vicinity - there's not much he can do about that.

Good point.
But still, Presti didnt make it easy for him. On the odd occasion Tredders did get near the ball, he was always right by him. Very good blanketing defender.

Trading Stevens and then putting Guerra into the midfield full time would be a good way of getting some pride and guts back into our midfield.

Stevens was terrible today. May have had 26 disposals..but bloody hell...if 10 of them went to our teammates today then he'd be lucky. 3 years in a row he has gone missing when it matters. This sort isnt needed at our club.

Porthos: Tredrea did not have a one-on-one contest today due to our inept coaching.

I pray to god that Collingwood doesn't get Nick Stevens. Odds are today turned us right off.
I reckon it would be quite funny if Stevens ended up at Collingwood & missed the 1st game of the season due to suspension - particularly if the game was against Port.

Gawn to Collingwood according to Rucci today. Will announce it this week. But Rucci reckons the deal won't be done with Collingwood - implies 3 way deal.

According to Caro Port's first game next year will be v Essendon at AAMI. Sorry Kane - loses part of your irony, but some is left ... ;)

Stevens will dominate at Collingwood next year, mark my words.

At least (for him) at Collingwood he will not be surrounded by other receivers and taggers only.

I don't think we need another receiver, but Stevens is a class act.

What would you want from Melbourne? Nick Smith and Daniel Bell aren't for sale.

Then nothing much really. Those two would be the chief targets at Melbourne.

Dewy is a forward.
Where we get beaten (make that absolutely slaughtered) when we lose is in the midfield. That is where the one on ones hurt.
We only have receivers and taggers.
Please Mark, get rid of some of them, and bring in some accountable ones.

EBERT & FRANCOU WOULD BE NICE....

Pick 5 is tempting, but odds are that we end up with another homesick Victorian midfielder. We really need more `locals'.

Midfield were smothered, Tredrea was lucky if he got a hospital ball, let alone a pass. And with Cornes playing around in defence for most of the day Cloke was running free. All Prestigiacomo had to do was stand in between Cloke and Tredrea and pretend he was going for the ball.

He's a definite for the #1, and getting that pick from the Dogs will be like pulling teeth. No chance, unless Rohde is the weakest link.

Used to coach Norwood. Drafted Scott Bassett. Could we fool him with Scotty Borlace ... ?
