Which would be hilarious considering it's a very real chance.

Ultimately, if Brown, Kennedy and Lynch are playing forward then it's realistic and understandable that he may miss out.

After spending all year complaining and demanding Brown play forward, it could be the very reason why Nicko isn't selected. It would send the knee-jerkers into overdrive.

If Mckinley is dropped I think you can afford to include Naitanui for him (would Naitanui be quicker than him?) Definitely better defensively!
Also being at Etihad Stadium and the smaller ground the extra tall should make a massive difference.

Although he plays tall, McKinley isn't tall so dropping him wouldn't solve our problem of too many talls

Nicko is better below his knees and defensively then McKinley so I'm not sure that's an issue. However, McKinley has very good forward instincts and is a reliable scorer which is keeping him in the side. Dropping him for any first gamer is a substantial risk.

If McKinley wasn't scoring goals, I'd make the switch in a second because BMac doesn't offer anything else.

Is that a serious question? One of them waddles around the footy field with no real purpose(similar to a penguin), while the other is like a cheetah hunting gazelle!

I believe there'll be a spot for big Nick. If Q plays forward, we still need a back up ruck for Coxy.
I think Worsfold is playing coy to keep publicity and expectations down to as close to game time as possible. No Eagles supporter wants Naita getting stage fright or having insurmountable expectations placed on him a few days out before game time through the media.

I'd love to see him play against us. We'll probably get flogged anyway so I'd like something to excite me. :thumbsu:
No chance. The Eagles are playing every team into form this year - well except the Cats last week, but watch Geelong come out firing this week after a close scare.

Im tipping NickNat to be named emergency, and possibly be included for a late withdrawal (Spangher out - soreness). Then as a late inclusion NickNat would have no media attention or hype before he runs out through the banner. Would like to see him play in the Ruck, and jump all over Simmonds in the ruck. He might get outmuscled around the ground for throw-ins and ball-ups, but that would be a good learning curve and a lesson on how much stronger he needs to become to wrestle 1-on-1 with the big blokes.

What are peoples expectations on him when he does play his first game? Id like 10 touches, with 4 tackles. Will most likely start on the bench and relieve Cox for 5 minute periods each quarter and maybe some time up forward, but you'd think he would get about 60% game time or less 1st up to ease him into it, and the above stats would be a good return i think.

Which is why it's looking more and more likely that Spangher's the one in the gun

Backs
Glass
Mackenzie
Hunter
Spangher
Forwards
Lynch
Kennedy
Brown

Rucks
Cox
Naitanui

That's about as many talls as you'd want to play there. The only other one in danger of getting dropped would be Mackenzie but i don't see it happening

You forgot spangher was great on the weekend and is in my best 22.
Hard to drop any. Ultimatly the two bolded would be my personal choices, only because of age.

Ultimatly, Spangher could go to the wing/ HBF for Embley? Brown could go back into the defense, Lynch could then stay forward and Naitanui could come in off the bench to go forward/ ruck.

Eitherway this issue wont be solved at the selection table this week. Naitanui will miss.:(:p

its not recent footage and probably not new to you either but if your a naita fan you just dont get sick of watching it :D

the 28 second mark of that video is what i like best. Dishes off a perfectly weighted handpass to a teammate streaming through the middle, AND then sprints over to lay a shephard on the opponent chasing the teammate he just handballed to. Shows how hard he works in passages of play and the unselfish work ethic that is lacking from a few of our senior players. Most people would not even be quick enough to get over to lay that shephard but NickNat is.

I can't wait to see him play. Went to a few WAFL matches last year just to have a look at him and was sitting quite close at the Grand Final when he did that run down on Phil Read. The noise of the crowd was incredible as he closed in on the tackle. It was like he took a screamer or something. Amazing.
Can't think of one single reason why he wouldn't play this week. Will be gobsmacked if he is not selected. Should make a huge difference to your team. Good luck to him.

Love the dude at 2:05 who argues for hands in the back when Naita took the screamer over him even though it was all a natural leap...

Hehe, classic wasnt it. But I would probably do the same if a guy just near jumped over me - Naita has some serious hops though. :thumbsu:

Yup, sounds about right.

He only averages around 14/15 disposals in the WAFL.

that video is breathtaking.
needs chariots of fire music on there.... :thumbsu:

when it comes down to it...
if west coast are going to pick a side based on height, structure etc, Nick Nat wont play.

but if they realise the talent in what they have sitting there and ready to go,
they will FIND someone to remove.

i have good sources in saying wirra will not be playing this week

I doubt he'll play.

Will be happily surprised though.

EDIT: All the news sites keep saying he will be making his debut this week.. Is there any source?
There doesn't need to be. It's just something for them to write about.

wow hes gonna debut.
he will be the first ever player to play who has 0 skills.
what a waste of a pick ben cousins could ruck against that muppet richmond will beat you by about 40 points and if it doesnt happen i will never say anything on your stupid weagles board again.
