Agree that Trigg needs to be stood down immediately, pending an investigation into the 2009 side-contract. This investigation will probably result in his termination/resignation.

As for his replacement, I want the club to hire the best person for the job.

I'm not sure if Smart is the best person for the job. I understand the sentiment, given that he's an ex-Crow who has a solid business background and is professional in everything he does. He certainly appears to meet all of the requirements for the job. That makes him a highly eligible candidate - it doesn't necessarily make him the best person for the job.

This is a ridiculous thread. Now I'm no Trigg lover (or hater) but this is a preposterous thread. Nothing major will come of it and NOTHING has gone down yet.

Exactly. We have no idea what the details are yet.

Secondly, I would want the club to go through a rigorous selection process for the next CEO (if it comes to that). I would think it's pretty unlikely that an ex-player is also the person best suited to a CEO role; that would be some co-incidence.

Every call our management has made during this on-going Tippett debacle has been wrong
finally it emerges that they may well have put the club at risk of serious sanctions from the AFL

time for some changes at the top, whether it's Smart or not

To clarify I did say appt Smart as a interim appt

Meaning if Trigg is cleared from a independent & transparent investigation then he retains his role, if he is not a full executive search process is triggered which Smart is free to apply for the role, either way Smart is custodian of the role until either process runs it course
