Another excellent unplugged album from the same era as Nirvana's release was Alice In Chains unplugged album. Seriously good.
Anyone here a fan of early Alice In Chains or their unplugged album?

I liked a few AIC songs so went and bought unplugged, dirt and the SAP/Jar of flies EP thing. Have seriously struggled to get into any of them. Maybe I'll have to give unplugged more of a crack.

I think may have bought the CD's and subsequently got over them.

Well AIC's songs are fairly dark and moody as was the style of the time with Grunge but Layne Staley's voice and Jerry Cantrell's axe playing are certainly are great combination. Perhaps you have to be in the mood.
I still have several of their songs on shuffle.

A real shame Layne Staley died rather young. His voice was unique. Couldn't handle his addictions though. Nothing new with muscians.

I love the song Angry Chair. Fun to play on guitar.

Will always love Nirvana, though I listen to it less and less I will never stop completely.

Was too young to get into them when Kurt was alive, in fact I was horrible to a high school girlfriend at the time of Kurt's death, teasing her about how upset she was. Weird by me, something I will always regret.

Not long after I actually had a listen, and when Muddy Banks of the Wishkah came out it changed pretty much my whole musical perspective.

Was given the AIC Unplugged album when it came out, and it blew my mind. Brilliant, still listen to it heaps today, though the only other album I've listened to much is Black Gives Way to Blue (?) the recent one, which is quite excellent too.

Had Kurt not killed himself, I don't think that Nirvana would still be together like it was. Dave Grohl would have left and started something like Foo Fighters way before now, and Kurt wouldn't have been able to sing like that now anyway.

Kurt's "suicide note" (which I highly highly doubt it was. It was a resignation from music, up until the end of the note, which handwriting experts state is written by another person.) suggests that he didn't find pleasure in making music any more, he didn't enjoy making it or being in front of the crowd anymore. He tried to force himself to, but he just couldn't. So I agree, Nirvana would not have gone on as it was for another 18 years.

If Cobain was still alive however, I would definitely have been able to see them join up again while they're in their 60s for a blues album.

Nirvana were amazing with and without Dave.

what gives you that idea?

Absolutely love Nirvana!

Nevermind is a fantastic album and love their Unplugged stuff which I have on DVD. Favourite songs would have to be In Bloom, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Slither, Lithium and Polly.

Dave Grohl on drums is insane!
