Tried to tell everyone during the week that this was going to happen if we played like we did last week against the Swans, but I was told I was full of shit, to stop being so negative and was not being realistic to say the least.

So I have a question for you all, can I be negative today?

I cant believe we had half a dozen players in this day and age choosing the wrong boot to wear.

dont be negative, just be realistic (as per your name). And the reality is we are waaaay off the mark in terms of matching it with good teams.

Our engine room is full of duds that have had their chance and proven to be failures - Johnson, Tuck, Hyde

Our fordward line is devoid of young big targets.

We have no emerging ruck talent.

We have the worst captain in the league by a long way.

Our coach has no idea.

We basically get killed against the reall physical teams because we lack some young midfielders who are ball winners and physically strong (we have a very good emerging midfield in terms of burst and outside players but we desperately need some young, run all day, accumulators in the Jordan Lewis, Rhys Palmer mould ... or, Mark Coughlan pre-injury mould ... wipes tear from his eye).

"Haha I was right, we are crap" is not a good thing to see from someone. From what I've seen you are a knowledgable poster who I respect, but I've never once seen you say you were wrong, it's usually some twist so you end up right.

Start of the year you were preaching finals when everyone said spoon, then when everyone else sights finals you once again do the opposite.


Ask yourself these questions:

Why is it easy for me to find faults in whatever is the popular opinion?

How much of my opinion is shaped by the need to disagree with other posters?


Just support the team and forget about idiot supporters who have poor opinions and unrealistic hopes.

This thread has nothing to do with pre season thoughts of finals or spoons or anything of the like, it has to do with a review of last weeks game in which I said if we play the same as last week against the Swans we'll get smacked by 15 goals.

Just to correct something though, at the start of the year I was preaching a finish between 6th-12th after expecting some improvement, when I didn't see that improvement early (first 3 rounds) in the year I expected a bottom 4 finish and although there has been some improvement in the 5 weeks before today nothing has changed that opinion. We will still end up with a bottom 4 finish. If anyone still thinks a shot at the finals is still on the cards after witnessing today then they have problems.

We have slipped back into our old habits.
Pressure on the ball carrier means our players are disposing of the ball under extreme difficulty and they are caught with their pants down.
Overusing the ball.
No plan B.
Other sides have allowed us to run and carry, but the Swans have refused to let us take the game on.
Players have slipped back into self-preservation mode.
PS: Jake King is no good.
