Like the other night on the stupid footy show.I know, I should know better than to watch it but I was.The big Rivalry round they show all the big games between Pies and Blues , but when it comes to us its a Joke clip, the Man from the Mansion and the country bumpkin trying to park the vehicles in the same spot.Of course we had the ute. I just cant see them doing something like that for Eddies team.

As the only semi-regional team in the league, I guess we're seen as an easy target. Of course, I contend that Geelong is a far more interesting and friendly place than most capital cities. Making fun of the country is easy for most people, but doesn't win you any friends among the many hundreds of thousands who wouldn't live anywhere else.

Yeah, the Pickett thing is giving me the ********s also. I spose the biggest bit I have trouble swallowing is watching that hack Mahoney kicking the goal.
You'd think they'd show a goal after the siren or something rather than singling out that one bit.

As for lack of respect typical Channel 9. Just like Eddie's hilarious jokes about Geelong getting electricity last week. BTW does he write his own material?! No other station stoops to levels like that.

I thought we deserved respect with the way we went about our football last season & how Cook/Costa are running the club, but alot that is going out the window this season. We better attack the footy physically on Saturday night because if we dont Essendon will be all over us

I know the team has to earn respect, but saying Geelong just got electricity last week isn't knocking the Cats - it's knocking the quarter of a million people who live there that choose a semi-regional lifestyle over the clutter of Melbourne. And if Geelong only just got connected to electricity, I can only imagine what Eddie must think of places far smaller than Geelong - places where football is just as important, if not more so, as it is in big cities.

I don't mind people having a dig at something that deserves it, but having a laugh at the expense of regional Aussies doesn't win any votes from me.

LOL...I live with PAtty and he LOST it on the weekend when that Ad came on. I was using the PC and turn around because the TV is off to see Patty, fuming and losing it about "resetting the damn foxtel I am going to f**** some dudes up..." lol...

As much as I hate to see the Cats get slandered...it's part of footy. I am willing to bet that if it was for instance Collingwood having a moment being played over and over again where they got there sh*t ruined...they would be crying about it in there boards too. But would we care??? Of course not!!! It's not our team so who gives a toss? All teams cop the rough end of the stick at one stage or another...we just gotta take our share of it.

I do agree though that we won't get much more respect unless we win a flag...but then again, neither will any other team. Brisbane were all high and mighty after their streak of grand final wins...and what happened when they lost?? They were all of a sudden chokers and they copped a heap of crap. Same thing will happen to Port if they get to the GF this year and lose. It doesn't matter how good your history is...if your team loses...you slag the sh*t out of them, no matter how much you love them...and so does everyone else.
