Just wondered what you guys think of nick missing out. I was totally shocked. Brown and pavlich are great players but surely brown had to be at ff and riewoldt at chf. Pavlich looks half hearted sometimes despite his obvious talent

pavlich had as good a year if not better than riewoldt... mooney and steve johnson both did not have better years than riewoldt however...which was a joke

Considering players like Mooney, Corey, Milburn, B.Johnson and Fletcher got in I am very, very surprised Riewoldt missed out, lets not forget that Riewoldt averaged 5 more disposals and the same amount of goals per game as Cam Mooney yet couldn't find himself even on the bench.

I thought Riewoldt had a very good year, but I didnt watch five or six games every weekend, so I cant really say if the guys who got selected deserved it more or less.

Thats the reality of it.

What an absolute joke! S. Johnson missed the first 6 games and he got in... How is that possible??? I would have had Rooey before him and Cam Mooney. Everyday of the week

Much more disappointed about Sam Fisher missing out. Easily had a better year than Fletcher, not to mention he actually had an opponent to play on

you guys were stiffed.

reiwoldt should have been on a HFF with steve johnson moving to mooney's forward pocket.

sam fisher should have been in the team in place of campbell brown.

I am having a debate in my own head about Roo vs Moo(ney). I think Roo was amazing this year in the way he was often a one man show. The thing about that was that he spent a lot of time doing a lot of unspectacular stuff on the wing, on the back flank etc.

Mooney undoubtedly had a great year, but the fact that his team was so good allowed him to just play CHF. I think therefore you are undoubtedly more likely to make AA if you're in a team which allows you to play in position and not carry the can for the rest of your team as well.

But I don't think it's a bad call. I was really impressed with Mooney after spending the last decade believing he couldn't play at all.

Totally agree.

The selectors should be ashamed. Mooney had a very good year but nowhere near as good as Rooey. Gotta remember Mooney is playing in the fwd line of a team with a midfield that absolutely dominated so he got quality ball each and every week and was able to just stay in the fwd 50. Rooey had to work twice as hard for his marks/goals/disposals and was often double teamed.

On top of that...how did Foley not get in?

I don't think Riewoldt was that good this year.

consitency is an issue

would say fisher, gram, lucas and franklin robbed even worse

Foley robbed even worse. Danker was been even more inconsistent.

Would say...

B: Campbell Brown - Matthew Scarlett - Dustin Fletcher
HB: Jason Gram - Matthew Egan - Heath Shaw
C: Leigh Montagna - Jimmy Bartel - Robert Harvey
HF: Brent Harvey (c) - Johnathon Brown - Tarykn Lockyer
F: Steve Johnson - Matthew Pavlich - Scott Lucas
R: Hamish McIntosh - Gary Ablett - Nathan Foley
INT: Cameron Ling - Lance Franklin - Sam Fisher - Dean Cox

Now go through Cam Mooney's year week by week, and tell me who had the better year.

Good point.

But I never said Mooney deserves it either.

That third tall spot should have gone to Lucas or Franklin.

Lol surely you joking :D

Wrong board?

You probably feel the same way when Victorians say Roger who? when Hayden made the shortlist for the team.

The fact is Sam Fisher had a brilliant season and must have been very close to making the team. Brown would have been one of the players who he was in direct competition with. As far as I'm concerned he should have at least been given a spot on the bench ahead of Fletcher.
