Decided to bite the bullet and apply for Vic police. Got an exam next month but it's the day after my flight to Europe. I don't know whether to fork out an extra $350 to change my flight and do the exam or just wait and hope I can do it in the new year. Help me bigfooty bulldogs!

Now that our season's extinguished, the Cubs streech run is pretty much all I have.

Watching right now. Losing to the Cardinals 4-2 bottom of 5th. One thing this year is that they aren't gone until the game is over. Need someone to homer. None yet today. Schwarber just missed one. Almost hit the left field basket.

I didn't really have the money, but decided to follow my gut and take a chance. We were told there that only 10% who attended would be accepted for a teaching position. I guess you know how that story ended...

My brother was a deputy sheriff in our suburban Chicago county in 1981. He felt like he needed a change of environment and packed up his wife and daughter and headed to northern Arizona for a deputy sheriff position. He worked his way up in the department and 15 years later was elected sheriff(as a Republican). He retired last year after being elected five times and serving 19 years as sheriff of the fifth largest county, area wise, in the US.

Sometimes you just have to follow your gut and take a chance.

I just listened to that part of the podcast. Never heard of the guy, but I loved it. I sat here and in my mind pictured everything that writer said.

I will never forget my father's comment after watching a Footscray vs. South match at the Western Oval when my parents came to visit me in 1979. Dad followed most of the game fairly well and seemed to understand the gist of the game. However, at the end of the game he said that he had no idea what the umpires were doing. Yes, dad, neither do we.

The Chicago Cubs clinched a Playoff spot tonight when the San Fransisco Giants lost to Oakland. It is the first time in seven years that the Cubs have made the Playoffs. They will play the Pittsburgh Pirates in the National League Wildcard game.

I just hope it isn't a loss and out like the Doggies.

I think I pulled something in my left shoulder. Can't straighten it out properly and can't move it very much. It's also replaced my entire vocabulary with ow, shit, jesus, **** and dammit.

Yeah, it just started hurting Friday night and I was going to just rest it yesterday to see if it got better. It still hurts today so I'll have to stop into the doctors tomorrow if it doesn't get better by then.

No idea, I've had pinched nerves before but never in my shoulder and they don't feel like what I'm having at the moment.

I had winged shoulders that caused me discomfort through the shoulder/s & had to do correctional exercises to end up alleviating it
